Poured dark and tan, a few fingers of foam that lasted but for a few seconds and left plentiful lacing on the glass.
Smell was almost absent - for a dark beer that looked so tempting in the glass it seemed nearly void of aroma, but for a mild hint of bread and malt.
The taste was equally subtle, crisp (too crisp) carbonation overwhelmed the flavor of malt and yeast, which eventually gives away to very slight bitter and smoky flavor.
The beer feels thin, light, and does not get beyond the subtleness that starts with the smell and continues through the finish, leaving only but the most hidden smoky malt.
Given my likeness for the other beers in the Firestone Walker lineup, this one was a let down.
