This liberation begins its journey as DBA then continues through a “chrysalis” process involving 87% French and 13% American Oak barrels, and our proprietary collection of micro flora. To blend, we selected beer matured eight to 24 months in barrels, creating a synergistic beer. Immediately, toasted oak and lemon pith swirl on the nose and palate, followed by an amazing harmony of vanilla, coconut, Earl Grey tea and spice. The finish is crisp, with mouth-watering acidity and chewy tannins. Since we age, blend and bottle these beers once a year, there will be slight variation with each release.

4/22/20...pours deep amber, reddish tones, fully settling foam. Sweet cherry nose, with vanilla and coconut too. Taste is a strong upfront sour, slight pucker. Medium to long lasting. Woodsy. Chew on it for a while. Nicely.

Outstandingly clear, copper colored body capped with a thick, billowy, spongy head. Excellent wild aroma mixing notes of brett, white grape, apple cider; sour. Very fine tart and lemony taste with a sour edge right off; a bit woody, a bit of wine tannin; very ripe fruit such as peach; lime. Medium body; smooth and silky; semi-dry with a fine acidic edge.
This is a wonderful wild ale with some colossal sensory qualities. Nicely balanced, richly complex, and an outstanding warm weather treat.

Pours a ruby-tinted brown reminiscent of a cyser, thick soapy head that resists fading. Aroma is oak tannin, vanilla, black tea leaf, cherry pit, sandalwood. Begins light & tart, lots of flora funk, and then pivots into a creamy finish with notes of vanilla, tea leaf, obtuse citrus, dry cherry, mild grape tannin. It somewhat elicits a sherry. Finishes with a little tart kick but smooth on the tongue. Very well done.

Picked this up at Julio's and shared with JLindros.
A - Poured into a Kate the Great tulip a nice clear honey amber with a thin head that fades to leave light wisps and a thin halo.
S - Aromas of nice oak, little vanilla, tart acidity, vinous notes, solid lacto notes.
T - Taste is similar to the nose with nice bright vinous notes, really good oak barrels and vanilla. The brett is quite pleasant.
M - Mouthfeel is lightly carbonated, little creamy and crisp on the finish.
O - Overall this was a rather solid wild from Firestone Walker. Held up really nicely and tastes like what America wild ales used to taste like years ago.
