Swampy tobacco brown body with little activity. A half finger of off-white head retains rather well before sinking down to a tight collar which laces quite well.
Rich toffee and caramel covered with sweet bourbon, molasses and brown sugar. Sweet dark malts, intense plum and fig. Even with a pronounced bourbon presence, the alcohol is pretty tame. Some leathery port type aromas... smooth stuff.
Sweet cola and red fruits dominate the palate. Some dirty brown ale flavors with some mellow bourbon and vanilla oak. Again, the alcohol is rather subdued which I can definitely appreciate. Butterscotch and toffee, pretty cloying at the finish (hi Bryan).
Very grateful to have had the opportunity to try this one. Thanks Tom!
