What a marvelous and intense beer. Pours a very dark brown/mahogany and almost black color. Thick head gives way to a frothy, bubbly and swirly lace. Fabulous aroma; the hops hits you as you breath it in. If you love hops aroma, this is the one for you! I also detect pine. This hops aroma gives way to a sweet chocolate smell. Taste is, like aroma, a hops explosion on the taste buds. This is balanced by a malt feel that has hints of chocolate and coffee. There is also an intense spicy feel. A full bodied and robust drink! Very drinkable!
Overall I loved this beer! Not for the faint of heart!

Ok but not crazy impressed by this one. Certainly drinkable but not on my mentionable list.

Leaves a little something to be desired by me.

Thick dark color, rich darkened fluffy head which lingers.

Pours a transparent black with moderate head that disappears slowly and leaves lacing all around the glass.

Smells of roasted malt and caramel and some hints of piney hops.

Tastes much like it smells, with the initial sweetness of the malts up front, followed by the bitterness of the hops. Very well balanced overall.

Goes down very smoothly as well.

Overall, a very solid offering and one of the best black IPAs out there. I will be picking this up again.
