The clear amber color is handsome, but not much foam even when poured vigorously in the chalice. Some prickly carbonation on the tongue, but it dissipates too quickly.
This has a gummy, perfumey taste that is pretty near unique in my experience. Unfortunately it's not a very inspiring beer flavor. Something like cinnamon and cardboard with a spicy finish and bitterish, dishwater finish. Some kind of cough drop candy with a pineapple pork chow mein hint. If this was down to 4% I would be more forgiving.
This is just funny, I didn't like it at first sip and it didn't improve after that. A peculiar release from a great brewery. From the 22 oz bottle purchased at Albertson's supermarket in San Diego.
