Pivo is the beer that helped kick the doors down and liberate American pilsner from the clutches of industrial beer. Inspired by the dry-hopped Tipopils from Birrificio Italiano, Brewmaster Matt Brynildson drew upon multiple European influences to create this one-of-a-kind beer that sparked a legion of new craft pilsners across the U.S. Impeccably balanced. Floral aromatics, spicy herbal nuances and lemongrass notes from German Saphir hops. 5.3% ABV | 40 IBU

Finally a good pilsner! I had this from a 12oz can. The canned date is 60 days old. It is quite clear. Very transulucent. The color is also fairly light. It has a LOT of head, and a lot of lacing on the glass. It looks like the color of white wine. I'd like it to be darker, but heeey, it's a pilsner I guess.
Doesn't matter though. Because the taste is great. Grassy malts with a bit of bitterness. This is at this moment in time my favorite pilsner on the market.

This missed the mark for me by quite a bit. It’s listed as a German Pilsner on here, but poured much too light and hazy, with an extremely light head.
The smell was not indicative of most Pilsners, which are hoppy. This smelled more like an American light beer. The taste was not what I expected as well. Much more bitter than a usual Pilsner. It’s like this beer doesn’t know what style it is. Tasted like an IPA.

Wouldn't kick it out of bed, but overall lacks bite and substance. Fine with a meal.

Very thick and lacy white head. Really light, straw look. Pleasant, chalky, floral (noble hop) aroma with a good deal of freshly malted barley. Refreshing, noble hop zing, atop a healthy dose of lightly toasted malt base, for the taste.

Poured from a 12oz can into a Guinness gravity pint glass.
L: Crystal clear and beautifully yellow, with a small white head that dissipates very quickly. Just about perfect for the style.
S: Standard Pilsner profile; hop/malt balance, but notably more hop aroma than most European pilsners I've had. There's also a notable sulfur/mineral odor that, while not bad, is a little strange.
T: A bit lacking in a cohesive flavor profile, there's a semi-sweet malt subtlety up front and a hoppy and bitter finish, but little to no "body" so to speak.
F: Light and moderately effervescent, pretty standard for the style, though I like a bit more carbonation myself.
O: It's a -fine- American craft pilsner; I've had better and worse. Whether or not I purchase this again depends on how it goes with dry gin and lime juice, honestly.

Delivered from a tap in a full clear pint glass, it's a great looking Pilsner. Bright and light golden-amber in color, it also maintains a soft and tight white head. Translucentcy is a character of this category and this one fits right in. The aroma is pure Pilsner, with just the right blend of hops and malt. It's there, you don't have to nearly dunk your nose into the liquid to catch it. The taste is mildly of that nice balance between malt and hops, then the Pilsner style hops dry out and moderately bitter the finish. There's even some glass lacing. Overall, this is one fine Pilsner. Unfortunately, it's a style of subtleties and not going to rock your taste buds. For what this is, it's excellent.

Bright clear yellow color with good initial white head and little lacing. Dry, bready smell and taste. Sharp, bitter finish nice feel for a pilsner. Enjoyed it with a charcuterie board . I was surprised I had not reviewed this beer previously.
