Pours a walnut colored body beneath the foamy, off-white head which slowly dissolves to leave a scattered lacing.

Plenty of malty backbone to support the spicy rye and hops in the aroma.

Similar to the aroma there is a malty sweetness that comes forward before the spicy rye and hops arrive.

Medium to fuller in body with medium carbonation and a pretty hearty finish.

Not a bad brew overall, nice rye touch, that could be brought out more with a bit less malt and additional pine hops.

Served in a Lagunitas mason jar.

What country would Balky have to have been from if he said "Don't be ryediculous"? Anyway, this stuff pours a clear sunrise brass-amber topped by over a finger of cream-white foam. The nose comprises grass, grapefruit peel, mild biscuit, flowers, and mixed greens. The taste may or may not bring in more of the same, but I can't see very much beyond the blast of grassy bitterness, though a bit of rye bread kinda sticks out there in the distance. The body is a light medium, with a light moderate carbonation and a dry finish. Overall, I can't say I came close to enjoying this beer. It's a mess of overt bittering hops, with no concept of balance or nuance.

Chameleon Ryediculous is a solid American IPA. Ryediculous has a very fruity (pineapple) smell and taste. Thick head and great lacing. The color is very Amber-ish with a very murky look to it. It is exactly what I think of when I think American IPA/Summer IPA. Ryediculous IPA is one of those beers where you could easy have 3-4 of them in a night.

Overall, it is a great brew especially at $1.25 a bottle (I always stock up on Sprechers/Chameleon when I am at the brewery) that I would highly suggest to IPA lovers.

Pours a copper - orange with two fingers of white head. Seems a little overcarbonated as it was overly fizzy. Decent lacing and stick.

Smells citrusy and hoppy - quite pungent. The smell carries over and this is a nice hoppy brew, but almost too much hop and sourness without any finesse or balance.

Overall, this is worth a try, but not a staple.

Slightly coppery amber in color with a two finger off-white foamy head with decent retention time and some mediocre lacing effects. Has a very large grainy component to the aroma alongside an large earthen noble hopping and yeasty breadiness. The flavor is split almost evenly between orange peel and rye malt, but it lacks a certain nuance and complexity of hopping variety that many other IPAs have. Kudos for using the rye, though it could certainly use quite a bit more of it to make it take the center stage... The body is on the thinner side of medium and the carbonation is a bit sluggish...

Pours a red-hue bronze color with an inch of off-white head with pretty good retention and some spotty lacing on the way down.

The aromas begin with a bit of rye zest along with some mild West coast citrus hops, though those are not as forward as the rye maltiness. Also there is some earthy and floral hops in the background.

The tastes definitely showcases the rye maltiness once again, but then finishes with an odd/strong bitterness and a bit of astringency. There's some floral and herbal hop character lingering in the background. Overpowering bitterness is a bit unpleasant here. Really getting overwhelming C-hop flavors, a bit too catty for my taste.

The mouthfeel is light to medium bodied with average carbonation and a surprisingly strong bitterness/astringency in the finish.

Overall this is not my cup of tea for sure, overpowering catty hops despite a nice dose of rye maltiness. Maybe the combination just doesn't work here or they aren't in balance but but there isn't anything too enticing about this beer. Honestly has a hard time throwing this down so I ended up draining it.

Sample: 1 bottle 2012

A: Pours a small foamy white head, a bit hazy, brown-burnt orange, strong internal carbonation, looks good

S: Citrus, some pineapple, decently sweet-smelling, smoke, various wood notes, decently fragrant overall

T: Begins with citrus, hops, quickly becomes quite bitter, certainly not bad, but a tad out of balance, strong hops

M: Other than being a little too bitter, generally smooth, has some watery qualities, but drinkable, a bit drying on the mouth and therefore a tad over-lingering

O: A nice strong rye, solid ipa as a whole, just a little too bitter and overpowering on the palate
