After seeing the rating this place had I was excited to check it out, but I ended up being very, very disappointed. It isn't a bad little beer store really, but it is vastly inferior to the sort of place that three A+ reviews implied it might be. They have a reasonably nice selection of imports, some of which I would even consider kind of rare, but I was looking for local beer since I am on a trip from Florida and their selection of regional stuff was pretty lacking. I was most annoyed to find that they didn't have a selection of singles, I was hoping to mix and mach a sixpack or two of stuff I couldn't get back home but no such luck. On top of that, quite a few of the domestic craft bottles that they did have were dusty and I saw some seasonals and one offs that really should have sold out quite some time ago, so it might be a good place to look for a stout that everyone else is out of, but I would be hesitant to get anything that you want to be fresh from this store.
I understand that this place is pretty good for the area (which as it turns out really isn't saying much), but that doesn't mean that it deserves a "world class" rating.

I stopped by Wines Unlimited over Easter weekend and I was impressed. Stratford now has a legitimate other choice in beer. There are several domestic sixes in the coolers and a huge section of mostly imported big beers. Nice selection of British and Polish brews. I do wish they had singles and bit more domestic bombers, however they have beers I have not seen anywhere else. The store is well organized. This and Captain’s Keg are the two places to hit in the area. The Keg is slightly cheaper, but the overall experience and friendliness here make this a better trip overall. Steve, the beer guy is a talker and knows his stuff. He is frank about what he thinks you may or may not like after talking with him. Great variety, even better service means this is now a must stop when I visit home.

Back in CT from FL for only a couple days. I grew up two minutes from this store going back as far as I can remember. The store is a bit cramped on floor space but it's understandable when you see the selections. You must come here and be willing to invest some time perusing the coolers, shelves and floor spaces.
Steven and I struck up a friendly conversation, all about beer of course! Great selection from the sublime to the incredible. Steven helped me locate some DFH Bitches Brew. Wow. He also showed some of his new and hard to find items across the shelves. Next time I'm in town, I will be back for more.
This place far exceeded my expectations. Stop in if you love craft beer, or beer in general. You will find it's worth the trip.

Stumbled upon Wines Unlimited not expecting much as far as beer selection goes, but was pleasantly surprised. Strong selection and very knowledgeable staff.
Very organized store with the beer selection divided into styles and country origins. Every time I enter the store I know I will exit with a beer that I will taste for the first time. Beer tastings are held every Friday focusing on lesser known or newer companies.
Only drawback is that my 10 min run to the store ends up being an hour conversation about anything and everything beer!
