Thanks for sharing this one, Bobby.

Pours a clear golden color with a finger of white head. A mild funkiness to it. Some tart fruits, pineapple, lemon zest, and apple. Sweet malt and a touch of sugar, too. Quite nice. There’s lots of sweet fruit and a little bit of tartness, too. A bit of candi sugar and definitely some caramel malt sweetness, too. Very nice. Medium bodied with medium to high carbonation.

A - Pours golden orange into my snifter with just about one finger of white head that dissipates quickly and leaves minimal splotchy lacing.

S - Very malty, lots of fruit, apple and white grape, citrus, clove and very mild banana and a touch of alcohol.

T - Malts, candied sugar, clove and banana, apple and orange, spicy and peppery, and a little booze on the finish.

M - Dry and a little too crisp for my liking.

O - Very enjoyable beer, especially after the carbonation settles a little. Excellent presentation and quality.

The wife and I stopped by for a beer on our way to float the river in Gruene, glad we stopped.

Appearance: First pour was clear in the house snifer with a deep yellow almost orange color. Head was short lived. Second pour was almost entirely yeast, the server had a thing for spinning the bottle while he removed the cork, I'm now farty.

Smell: Pears, fruit, nice ester profile.

Taste: A nice warming alcohol was supported by flavors of fruit and some spices.

Mouthfeel: Not quite as dry as a Duvel, but still very refreshing.

Overall: We walked out with 4 bottles that 3 will be gifts to family and friends. I suggest grabbing one next time you're in San Marcos.

Poured into a Darkside sniffer

Appearence: Golden orange with about a fingers worth of white head, that fades into a lacing that clings to the side of the glass. Not as light as you would expect from a Belgian Strong Golden Ale.

Aroma: Fruity esters, yeasty, citrus, a hint of alcohol notes as the beer warms up.

Taste: Peach, citrus, fruity, and a little tart. I would love to see how the taste develops over time due to the bugs in here. There is a little bit of alcohol warming on the finish.

Mouthfeel: Highly effervescent and very drinkable. It has a higher alcohol content (9%) but its still easy to drink. It is very dry, but this adds to its drinkability.

Overall: This is a very pleasing and referencing beer. I’m glad I went ahead and picked one up. Silas was right it is drinking very well right now.

Picked this one up during a recent trip to San Marcos.

The beer pours a hazy golden orange color with virtually no head. The aroma is very boozy with some yeast and citrus fruit notes. The flavor is alcohol, oranges, candi-sugar, spices and yeast. The beer is juicy and also very boozy. Medium mouthfeel and low carbonation.
