I stopped in on a "wine tasting" weekend. The unfiltered dbl. bbl. is fantastic and I brought home a growler. There were two bartenders when we stopped in. The female seemed new but she looked great. The male barkeep had lots of info and the growler fill was perfect. The exit is Ave. of the Flags / McMurray. I had a pizza and my girlfriend ordered a flat iron steak. The pizza was generic but the steak was superb! It is a great stop if you happen to be hungry, thirsty or ready for a break from the 101 race. I will stop in again.

Note that this review is for co-vid conditions. I know they have limitations on seating options, and I suspect that a post-Covid visit will cause an increase in the "vibe" rating, but the current situation with the outdoor seating is sort of "parkinglot-ish" and not really a good competitor to places that have dedicated, long term outdoor patio facilities. Despite that detail, I really like this place because their food is outstanding (go for the tri-tip sand. and the wonton ahi tacos, for sure), they have a selection of not only their mass market beers, but also their barrel-aged specialties in a variety of inside and outside seating arrangements, including dog friendly area with water bowls they top off regularly, and the service is very friendly and quick (although I was there between lunch and dinner midweek and the crowd was small). My ONLY disappointment was that the way they are handling the menus, at least during co-vid, is that no where on the printed menu does it show that their special barrel-aged ales, stouts and wild ales are ALSO available as menu selections besides their mass market beers. The availability of those specialty beers is only shown on video screens in a different room and the server did not tell us that. They do sell their individually bottled specialty beers and they have a nice assortment of Firestone-Walker "stuff" for sale. The whole place is insanely clean, including bathrooms.

Unique place with a slew of options for how to approach their beer (patio, high-tops, bar, sit-down restaurant, and then Barrelworks in a separate room). We ate before heading to the latter for a liquid dessert of BA goodness.
Like others have said, the staff can certainly be angsty and a bit forthcoming with you. Regardless, our server was friendly, knowledgable, loved their beer, and gave us relatively quick service.
The food is expensive but man is it delicious. My wife had the 805 pizza (vegetarian) which was awesome, and the Wookee Jack Brisket sandwich was incredible.
My only complaint is that most of the seasonals were not on tap, and they had no stouts or Wookee Jack on tap either. Great stop for sure!

This spot is in the same building as Barrelworks, but this is geared towards their food and "normal" beer operations. They usually have all of the widely available FW beers on tap with an occasional one-off or special release. There is bar seating available, but most of the space is tables for eating. Service has always been pretty good, but it can get busy when there are special events.

I would give this a 4.5 -4.75. FW has always impressed me as a well run outfit, having attended several new bottle releases over the past year. I'm not a local boy, so no bias in that regards, they just go bigger and better than most. Plenty of parking on premises, or on the street. Nice check in area and bar area whilst waiting. two separate seated areas, although I've never sat in the area left of the bar/entrance. This area seems more casual than the larger seated area to the right and behind the check-in desk. Small but ample merchandise area incl reg beer offerings. The tasting room has their rarer beer stock. Tasting room is actually divided into two parts, depending on the functions that may be running. High ceiling for affect in the larger restaurant area. The atmosphere in general is always great, load and busy during main meal times. Knowledgeable staff, esp when it comes to the beer, as you would expect. Professional and polite staff. Bathrooms are clean and functional. I like the tasting room here better than stone, just for the privacy, but this does lack outdoor dining options, and given the great weather in the area, not sure why that may be. Classy place overall, in a well-healed area. a must visit if in the area. Hope this helps. Cheers.
