Easily accessible from 101, just off the highway.
Pretty typical atmosphere for a brewpub place, I snagged a table in the front room to watch an NCAA basketball game on TV. Smallish bar right when you walk in and what looked like a mammoth seating area in the back. Definitely family friendly, at least at the dinner hour.
Beers were fine, I tried the four mainstays via their sampler ($6 for four 4oz samples and a souvenir pint glass) and then had the honey blonde and the rotational offering, Lil' Opal. I was excited for a low ABV (below 4%) Belgian but it was pretty watery. Beers were fresh and tasty but all were pretty mainstream and there weren't that many to choose from. Plenty to keep you busy on one visit, though.
Service was great, our waiter was working a lot of tables but still got to us often and took care of water, beers, food, etc. Food was also solid, you can tell the chef takes his job seriously. There is a nightly special, on the night I visited it was pasta with seafood. When I inquired about vegetarian options, they offered to whip me up the pasta dish with no seafood and more vegetables. Not only do I appreciate the flexibility, but it was pretty tasty to boot. Sides, salad, dessert etc. were also good although not mind-blowing.
Total bill for a few beers and several courses for 2 was about $75, probably could have kept that down with cheaper food selections. Pints are $4. Nice place, not too adventurous but good people and competently operated.

*I am going to combine my scores and reviews for both the taproom and barrel works since they are one listing over here on BA*
Our last stop on our drive to SD. I was mainly stopping to check out the barrel works but we decided to stay for dinner so I got to check out both. Atmosphere at the barrel works was awesome, you can get a beer and take a walk through the barrel room which is awesome. The taproom was packed with people but it still had a good vide. Quality across the board was quite good. Lots of great touches in both spaces help but don't detract from the atmosphere. Service in both spaces was solid. I never had to wait for a beer and the bartender at barrel works was great to talk to, especially being a fellow cicerone. Selection was excellent. Taproom had all of the staples on and the barrel works had 9-10 specialty beers on, most of which never leave the premises. Food in the taproom was pretty good. I got a burger and it was pretty good. Prices on the beers were fine, food was definitely overpriced on nearly all of the dishes. Overall a really nice showpiece for a great brewery. Glad we could stop and check it out.

I finally stopped here after driving by a couple times a month for the last 5 years. Yeah, I don't know what took me so long either. Great place. Much bigger inside than I had expected. I was sort of in a hurry (I HAD to get to a home rewing meeting later that afternoon), so I didn't get a chance to try to the food, but I have heard good things. I had a pint of Pale 31 and then a pint of Wookey Jack. Both great. I loved the Wookey Jack. I had never had it before. I ended up getting a growler of it to take to the home brewing meeting, where it was a hit. Service was great. I was there on a Sunday afternoon around 12:30. I thought it would be more crowded, but I guess it is hit and miss. Prices were a little high, but I'm sure they get the tourist traffic stopping off the 101, so those people don't mind paying a little more. I am looking forward to going back and checking out their new(er) tasting room, Barrelhouse, where they have their stronger beers and their sour beers. Should be fun. I recommend this place to anyone driving by.
