From a 32-ounce Crowler filled at the brewery.

A pretty light amber or pale gold with a bright white head.

Bright aroma of juicy citrus-like hops.

Bitter and juicy but in some ways subtle to my hop-fried palate.

Body is almost creamy.

Overall an excellent IPA. Seek it out.

I remember this beer being pretty good, along the lines of anything from MBC not named Dinner.

It's still nowhere near the Vermont Big 3, though.

For those less spoiled than myself, this is probably a great regional offering.

Cloudy citrus bomb, great smell, a little piny, but not bitter. I wouldn't call it balanced because the city's is so in your face, but that's a good thing. Everything you want in an east coast IPA and Florida's best IPA IMO.

Pours gold. GIANT mango pervades every inch of the beer's flavor and aroma. Mango up front, mango in the middle, mango, passion fruit, and grapefruit in the back end. Big, bold, bright, but never too sweet, never gimmicky.

I look at single-hopped Citra IPAs as existing on a continuum between two poles. Previously, those poles were marked "Zombie Dust," which is very bitter, and "Psuedosue," which is very fruity. Crank destroys that old continuum, blasting so far beyond Sue's fruitiness I could have sworn I was drinking fruit juice. Amazing.

Poured a cloudy yellow. Smells and tastes of lime with a hit of hops blended in right after. This is right behind Jai Alai in my IPA books. Excellent beer.

The beer comes in a completely hazy golden color.

The aroma smells like pure lemon peel, with some lemon juice on top. Huge citrus peel and grapefruit. A touch of sugary sweetness. Guava, passionfruit, pineapple.

The flavor hits up front of grass and leafy hop quality. It literally sticks onto one's teeth. Then onto passionfruit, guava, peach, mango. Then onto herbacous and grassy green drying, with a touch of lingering bitterness.

The closest thing to Hill Farmstead or Tree House outside of New England and Toppling Goliath. An auspicious introduction into the top tier world class hoppy beers out there.

Poured into a Haw River Farmhouse Ales teku glass. Crowler filled 2-9-15. Thanks a bunch, colt3ninja!

A- Pours a hazy medium amber color with a 1/2 inch beige head that retains well before becoming a thin ring around the edge of the glass and a large center patch of surface foam. resilient lacing trickles dlowly down the glass.

S- Pungent, juicy hop aroma reminds me of a homebrewed IPA. Resinous notes of pineapple, mango and orange. Also a bit grassy plus I get this hint of green pepper or poblano pepper that's surprising but nice.

T- Smooth citrus hop flavor that's moderately bitter but doesn't linger long. Malt is there just enough to provide some support. Ah and, now that I'm looking for it, there's that same green pepper element in the flavor that I found in the aroma.

M- Tangy, bright and crisp with medium carbonation and a body that leans toward the lighter side.

O- Great stuff. A very unique approach to a single IPA. Very drinkable and refreshing with a dynamite aroma. For the record, I love green peppers.

Sampled from a fresh 32 oz crowler - thanks Travis. Pours a hazy yet bright apricot color with a huge fluffy white head. Nose has hints of pineapple, mango and lemon. Citrus flavors come through but are quickly followed by nicely balanced hop notes. Very nicely balanced and highly enjoyable IPA. Crisp clean finish.

Fresh Crowler from the brewery. Pours murky bright yellow with a big creamy fluffy white head that sticks around a whole and leave a lt of lacing. Aroma of pineapple, some pine, sweet malts, lots of tropical fruits but of citrus. Flavor follows the nose closely with big citrus pineapple flavors, pleasantly light bitter, juicy. Slightly dry body after the big juicy tropical fruit, medium carbonation, creamy. Wish these guys were closer as this is easily the best IPA I've had in Florida.

Thanks to Cam for sharing this 32oz Crowler of Crank. Drank and phone-reviewed in the good ol Portland hotel room.

A - Pour into a small stemmed glass is hazy and pale orange. A white head retains nicely at a half-finger/mostly full cap.

S - Nice scent of fresh peach, mango, tangerine. Gains some strength with warmth.

T - Taste is a bit weaker but still good. It is mostly dominated by smooth tropical fruit hops with touches of earthy veggie. Some slight biscuit/bready malt.

M - On the lighter side, soft bitterness, medium carbonation.

O - Flavor/bitterness seemed weirdly muted - maybe lost some oomph in the crowler? That being said, still quite good. Easy-drinking and definitely a bit of a tropical hop bomb.

Crowler brought back from Tampa. So many duplicate listings on here, this one has more ratings. Full notes taken to IPad during consumption.

A- Semi cloudy golden yellow beer out of the 32oz can to a few wine glasses. A creamy white head in all the glasses to just above a finger. Huge sheets of lace with ample spots.

S- Hops dominate the aroma with bright fruits. Mostly citrus and stone fruits but not a juicy nectar type profile. Oranges, grapes, tangerines and some mango.

T- Feels a bit fresher here somehow with once again a fruity but not pulpy or juicy hop profile. Clementine, bitter citrus pith, oranges, mango, apricot and tangerines make up most of the flavor. Grapes, berries, light cracked grains and bread round it out.

MF- Light to medium bodied overall with a crisp and fizzy foamy consistency. Slight creaminess from the high carbonation. Stone fruits lead to a medium clean bitterness. A bit seltzer like.

Stone fruits like mango and apricot lead to big tangerines in a fruity but crisp and not quite nectar hop profile. Lacks a certain fresh edge that other fruity IPAs have but still a refreshing and tasty brew.

This is a great beer. The aroma is so piney. It's like putting you nose in a bag of hops... I could not stop smelling this beer through the entire experience. As a hop head, the bitterness did not match the aroma. Still a great experience.

Crowler that's ~10 days old

The beer pours a hazy light orange yellow with a thin white head that fades quickly with some lacing. The nose is bright citrus, predominantly orange and lime followed by light grain and yeast notes. The taste is citra-forward and juicy with some grain sweetness in the finish and a mild, lingering bite from the alcohol. This beer has a great body and mouthfeel with heavy handed & aromatic hops that saturate the palate without motor-boating it at a Christmas party, a light grain sweetness, and minimal alcohol. Although zombie dust still has an upper hand on this beer (yes, APA vs IPA) it's a close comparison. I'd prefer the same flavor profile, but bigger aromatics and a slightly thinner body.

This is one SOLID IPA. Just seeing it in the glass got me excited. Pale orange-yellow, very hazy. Looked almost like orange juice! The smell was entrancing. Ridiculously hoppy, citrusy, and endlessly drinkable. Each sip left me craving another and I ended up bringing a crowler home to have it the next day. This was the only beer I tried, but I do wish I'd stayed for more!

Crank is pretty close to perfect. Citra pales are some of my favorites, and this is up there with the best. (Pseudo Sue, Zombie Dust, Trillium Fort Point)

Appearance - Pours a very light and hazy amber with a one finger head.

Smell - Citra hops. Light and very fruity. More tropical fruit than grapefruit.

Taste - Amazing. Very light cracker malts give the beer some sweetness, but this is a Fruity Juicy Citra brew. Tons of tropical fruit plus a touch of lime, grapefruit, and tangerine. Plus I get the lightest touch of garlic (in a good way). I've had beers that have a striking garlic/onion flavor (looking at you, Lawson's SOS) and didn't care for it, but in this case it adds a warmth and depth to the flavor that I very much enjoy. Again, it's very slight and it may just be my palate. Finishes very slightly bitter, but this is a North-East Style Pale - The focus is the Citra.

Mouth - Nicely carbonated and finishes very clean.

Overall - My wife and I really liked Cycle. We stopped to have a beer, and chose Crank as we both love Citra Pales. It was so good that we had another - and I would have kept going but that would have required a trip to the ATM.

Pretty much the only drawback at Cycle is they're cash only. Time to get a machine guys. CC Terminals are cheap and easy these days - and accepting cards would increase sales instantly.
