22oz bottle poured into a snifter
A- pours a deep black color with a one-finger khaki colored head that reduces to a ring around the glass
S- opens with walnut fudge chocolate brownies, undertones of vanilla whipping cream, bourbon and wet oak, hint of coffee
T- plenty of bourbon barrel up front with some woody oak notes as well as barrel juice. Mid-palate gives some toasted walnut fudge with notes of chocolate and caramel. The finish gives more bourbon barrel with a linger of chocolate fudge & molasses
M- medium body with low carbonation leads to a slightly foamy mouthfeel and a smooth finish
O- plenty of barrel character with some nutty fudge notes makes for a great beer

Tan head. Black color.
Lots of oak and bourbon. Chocolate with a light roast. Caramel and toffee with some dark fruits. Molasses.
Thick and smooth. Warming, but in a good way.
Very complex.

I traded this 1:1 for Prop 15 and did not regret it in the least. Talk about chocolately indulgence! I wish I knew what the ABV was on this one but it clearly makes me want to pursue Peg's / Cycle stouts more aggressively. This, to me, tastes like Genealogy of Morals but with a tad more bourbon presence. YUMMMMMMY!
