On tap at the brewpub. Spot on East coast IPA. Not great on drinkability. Cloudy grapefruit coloured with some head and lace. Citra dominated, though a mix. of hops Big and hoppy.Well done, but I could finish, perhaps if only beer I would have today.

Draft at Peg’s during the Berliner Bash. Served in a Peg’s pint glass. Pours a nice golden-orange color with a good white head and some nice lacing. The nose brings plenty of very fresh hops. This smells like it was just dry-hopped, and has almost a fresh-hop character. Nice citrus and a touch of pine. Flavor is nice and bitter with a crisp, dry finish. Tropical notes are there underneath citrus and pine. Really quite nice.

A: murky golden and dirty straw colored. Decent lace.

S: very orangy and sweet

T: lots of citrus with a nice hop flavor which is just the right amount. Some grapefruit, earthy notes that blend very well.

M: medium body. Moderate carbonation.

Overall: Very drinkable. I left wishing this beer was available in bottles to keep it around to enjoy later.

Peg's barrel aged stouts are getting a lot of well deserved attention but I had this when I was at the brewpub the morning after the RareR release and I felt sorry for this awesome IPA living in the shadow or the greatness of the Rare series of beers.

Beer is amber / orange with a slight haze, nice white head small bubbles, moderate carbonation, some lacing. looks good.

Aroma is fruity, hoppy, mild earthiness mostly grapefruit and other citrus.

Beer is medium in body, great hop profile, nice finish with moderate bitterness, not a dry finish a well constructed hop forward citrusy IPA here. A nice surprise that this was so good. I'd definitely have it again.

First had: on tap at Peg's, Gulfport, FL

This was a good enough IPA, though honestly it paled in comparison to the Freewheel, which I had side by side. Slightly hazy pour, orange-amber color, with a moderate white head that retained as a thick ringlet and coated the glass with lacing. Nose was obviously dominated by hops, citrusy, slightly piney, hints of tropical fruits, solid sweet malt base. Good hop taste, citrus, wet grass, light pine, biscuity pale malts, fairly bitter and dry in the finish. Medium body, nice balance, drinkable. Good beer overall, but the fresh, crisp Freewheel blew it away.

Draft at the cantina.

Pours a slightly hazy, golden yellow color with a two finger frothy white head that slowly settles into a lasting ring. The glass is left coated with sheets of soapy lace.

Slightly earthy aroma with more of a citrus fruit presence than a piney/grassy character.  Subtle bread and biscuity malt along with lemon peel, grapefruit and pineapple.  Not as resinous or earthy as I expected for the style.

Medium bodied with a slight creamy texture.  Subtle dry bitterness nicely countered by citrus and tropical fruit notes.  Some apple, banana, lemon, pineapple and mango followed by bready yeast and biscuity pale malts.  Well balanced but not an aggressive hop bomb.  Lots of sweetness but one dimensional and lacking the sticky, dry and bitter flavors that I look for.  It is light and easy to drink but not too complex or interesting.

On-tap at Hunaphu... The beer is a very dark orange copper, murky doesn't look great... The aroma has a lot of mango and pineapple on the front then tons of hops. The hops are strong and consistent throughout, not fatiguing... The taste brings the hops forward a bit more, but again they do not dominate. This is solid ipa I would have again.

On-tap at Peg's.

A - It pours an orangey-hazy hue with a big head and lots of lace.

S - The nose is fantastic; it is one of the brightest, freshest and biggest bouquets I've encountered. A plethora of citric and tropical fruity-floral aromatics inundate the olfactory fom the get-go. The malt? What malt? Too hoppy to find any. That is a good thing.

T - The taste is even better than the nose. Like IPA candy. Delicious, dynamic and delectable. Grapefruit, mango and pine sap, orange and jasmine blossom; this brew is bursting at the seams with outstanding flavor.

M - IPA. Good.

D - This is about as delicious as an IPA gets.

Reviewed from notes. Had on tap at Peg's, poured into a pint glass.

A: Yellow golden. Lacy, 1/2 inch head.

S: Mod hoppy aroma. Nothing to knock your socks off. Citrus notes of the hops predominate.

T: Citrus/fruity, notes of pine. Mild amount of bitterness. Hop flavors are well-balanced.

M: Goes down easy. Standard mouthfeel for style.

O: Pretty darn good. It really is. But, this was my first trip to Peg's, even though I live in the general area and I think my expectations had crept up a little too high.

Enjoyed on-tap at Hunhapu's Day 2011.

This brew pours a nice, super hazy orange colour, and smells tremendously of hops. Absolutely bursting at the seams with hops. There's also a nice amount of tropical fruits here. The taste is hoppy to the maximum. I don't think I've had any IPA/DIPA with as overwhelming a hoppy character as this! The hops are super-fresh and pair great with the huge amounts of tropical fruit and citrus. Not much of a piney or a malt character here.

It's a medium-bodied beer with a pretty full amount of carbonation, the one place where this suffers just a bit is the drinkability. It's outrageously hoppy and delicious, but (as a hophead, I can't believe this is going to come out of my mouth), can almost just be a little bit too hoppy for prolonged drinking. I enjoyed my generously-sized sample glass, but am not sure if I'd like much more. A "one-and-done," for sure, but what a great one! A great IPA that absolutely blew my socks off. Love hops? Drink this.
