This is my forst review, so please excuse if I don't get it right. I Drove up from Bradenton, Great visit. They have a lot of Barrel aged beers on tap!! Very nice clean upscale appearance. I loved the art hanging on the walls. Service was great and the bartender was very knowledgable. I love Russian Imperial Stouts and the Chain Slap did not disappoint. I have been wanting to try some barrel aged beers, but they are hard to find and usually disappear quickly around here. They had 4 or more BA beers on tap! I would have tried more, but I had to drive home. So I will try more next time.

This review covers the pub on Central Av in St. Pete.

This place at first looks like a cold, concrete cell. However, another look around reveals a whole bunch of interesting art and some very cozy little two top tables. A nice long L shaped bar and two large blackboards with the beer lists. Garage doors open on the sidewalk, allowing street life viewing and seating. Good stuff.

Came here specifically for the daily barrel aged releases during TBBW and certainly not disappointed. I mean, how good is a dulce de leche stout with hazelnuts aged in a whiskey barre? We know they make some great examples of big ass barrel aged stouts, but they also are dialing in some nice hoppy pales. Crank is practically Zombie Dustian good.

Contrary to the people at Peg's, the bartender was a little cooler than thou, but what the heck. I really dig what these people are doing. Highly recommended.

My wife and I stopped here to try their beers and to have dinner while on vacation. Peg's is located inside a converted bungalow type of house, and there is a quaint coziness to it with the decor that they have installed. I didn't see the brewing equipment for Cycle Brewing, so I don't know if the beers are brewed on premises or not. The neighborhood is a mixture of small homes and other businesses that are also in former dwellings. It's a cool neighborhood.

We arrived early enough to take a table on the patio at the front of the building, and the weather was perfect for the evening. There appears to also be a covered deck to one side of the building that would allow for more outside dining, especially if it was raining. The small bar and a few tables were located just inside the front door.

There were 12 beers on the menu, but unfortunately only 7 were available. Bummer! We ordered a sampler of 5 of them, and then later ordered a pint of one of the others. Each of the beers was right to style, but this brewery tends to specialize in sessionable beers, thus none of them had an ABV over 6 percent. There were three different session IPAs, and each was less than 5% ABV. To me, with sessionable beers, there is a somewhat lack of a zing to the flavor, and each of these beers exhibited that characteristic. If you like mild-flavored, GOOD beers, then these beers are very good examples of that. I'm not a fan of this type of beer, but I appreciate that it is difficult to brew beers like this, so I'm not going to rate them negatively. You just have to know going here that the beers won't knock your socks off flavor-wise.

The food was good and each of our entrees had a special twist to it that makes them unique to this restaurant. I'd love to try other things on future visits, and regardless of the session beers, I'd go back again.

My wife said it best: "The highlight of our recent vacation."

Yep, this was an add-on to our recent vacation to Disney and Universal. We actually took and entire day our to do this.

Atmosphere: Being from the Midwest, I actually thought the location was very cool. Somewhat near the water, palm trees……. you know the rest.

Quality and Service: Great. The woman who waited on us actually gave us a pour of Rare DOS. Nice!

Selection: Pretty much every entry we tried was great, with a shout out to "Cream and Sugar Please."

Food: Like many Florida places, this one has great vegetarian options. My wife ordered the "Mediterranean" pizza. Good stuff.

Value: Compared to DC (my area), this place was very reasonable.

I had a great experience at Peg's.The beer, food, atmosphere & service were excellent.

I was in town for a friends wedding. Beforehand, I knew that I wanted to visit Peg's/Cycle and Cigar City in Tampa [did not make it to Cigar CIty, but I did drink a few really fresh Jai Alai on the beach that weekend]. I traveled to Peg's in Gulfport, from Indian Shores. Taking backroads through neighborhoods made it seem pretty far away.

Atmosphere (4.75):
Awesome. The neighborhood seemed really chill... I arrived around 8pm, and there was an art-walk through the neighborhood. I parked, then asked a tie-dye vendor where Peg's was. She pointed me across the street. Cool... it was a nice old house with some tables outside and lights strung. There was a wait but I was solo, so I a took a seat at the bar. Everyone seemed happy, staff seemed busy but relaxed, tables were full of food and beer.

Service (4.75):
The bar was small, but I got a seat. Barman (Eric T. - Ass't brewer) was friendly, and really knew the beers he was pouring. He walked me through samples of almost everything on tap - Pedal Brakes, Fixie, and Tang & Biscuits were all excellent. Jewel of the evening was the RareR DOS bottle shared with Eric T. Shrimp tacos were worth the 45 minute wait.

Quality (5.0) / Food(4.75):
It is easy to tell that they really care about what they put out into the world. The food took a while to get into my face, but it was absolutely fresh and freshly prepared. Eric T. knew his shit about the beer that he was serving, and cared that I knew about it too - and it was delicious.

Selection (4.75):
This is hard to rate really. Peg's serves mostly Cycle Brewing beers - I remember that they had a couple [maybe 3] other beers on tap too. That said, Cycle brews a wide range of beer styles... on my visit I tried a rye, a few pale ales, a porter, and a couple of stouts (I drank alot).

Value ($$):
Value, yes.

Right on the water so atmosphere is perfect. Very laid back establishment where you can come in and enjoy a great beer and actually get to talk to the owners. Peg is a doll, she's probably the nicest person you'll ever meet. She biked across Iowa this the Cycle Brewing name.

Quality.... I mean come on, it's 1 step below heavenly. They tap great beers regularly and their unlimited beers are great for the price.

Service, see atmosphere. Always love a place where you can meet the owners and see just how excited they are about what they produce. Lovely group of people.

If you are in the Tampa area and love great beer, definitely try to get down there. I went during the Nooner batch3 release and fell in love with the place. We're going back in a week just because it was so incredible :)

While exploring St Pete Florida my wife and I decided on mexican food and did a google for restaurants close by: Peg's was the closest. Normally I would not select a mexican resaurant that does not have the name Tia, Jose, or other similar hispanic honorific in the name, but we were starving. I cannot be happier that we stopped by. The food was exceptional (if you like fish tacos, get the Mahi Taco!!), the service was beyond anything I expected (Bernadette was amazing; very friendly and upbeat, a treasure that Pegs must keep), overall a top notch experiance. We live almost fifty miles from Gulfport and we WILL be back everytime we are in or near St. Pete.

I haven't reviewed a "place" in a while, but my recent trip to Peg's absolutely warrents it.

My lady, Pops and myself stopped in here on Friday, June 7th while visiting friends in Orlando. Nothing says "good times" like a road trip to a brewery!

First off, the little town of Gulfport ain't nothin' to look at - it's pretty low key and the houses surrounding the downtown strip are a bit...dumpy, shall I say? But once you walk thru the gate in front of Peg's, you're in your own little FL paradise. Like a Jimmy Buffett song come to life. Rat Pack music playing, well kept and extremely cozy.

We sat outside and were served by Sarah, who rivals some of the best servers I've ever had. She was really attentive, bright, bubbly and informative. She really took interest in us, and made the trip to Peg's even that much better.

My group ordered main courses, and shared the fish dip, which was outstanding. In fact all of the dishes were terrific. Most of us got seafood, and all of it was flavorful, fresh and executed to perfection. The mahi tacos were to die for, and my father's crab quesidilla was killer. And if you're not into seafood, don't despair, as the Frito Bandito burrito was awesome.

The beers you ask? As expected - some of the best in the US of A. Seriously, they were epic. RareR DOS is easily the best beer I've ever had (and I've had a few, mind you), so having the chance to tick the rest of their regular line up plus some seasonal/one-offs (including Cherry Rare DOS) was a real treat. We even got a couple of 32oz growlers to go.

Sure, we hit Cigar City later that day, and we drank as much local FL beer as we could get our lips on. But on the plane back, and every day since, we've talked about nothing else but how kick-ass our visit to Peg's was. Easily the highlight of our entire trip, and a place that I will forever hold fondly in my beer-filled heart.

Without question a must-stop on any FL trip, as Peg's ranks as one of my top-five beer destinations.

This place was wonderful. The inside is tiny, which gives it a great homegrown atmosphere. The staff was very friendly and welcoming, also very hardworking. There's not much room on the inside of this place but the outside if fairly large and the two bartender/servers were running around at all times, making sure everyone was happy. The beers they have were very good and you could tell they were proud of their products. At $5 a pint it wasn't too shabby. My rationale for selecting the $$$ tier is the price of the food, which was a bit high, but still ok for the quality of it. They also do growler fills for $8 + $5 for the glass, unless you have another growler from any FL ONLY brewery. Finally, you should be aware that they do not take any credit cards. They only accept cash, checks and debit (only on purchases over $15). Definitely a must-visit if you're in the area. I look forward to their brewery expansion coming this summer!

Great atmosphere, and beautiful people. My wife and I was refreshingly renewed. The quaint little town of Gulfport is both inviting and culturally diverse and will forever stand out as a spot to go and relax, have wonderfully brewed beverages, and mingle among friendy locals. My heart was full leaving and I am already planning my next trip. The Berlinere Bash is a can't miss event if you want to sample some unique brews like you've never experienced before.
