Visited on Cinco de Mayo in the evening. It is an impressive restaurant/brewpub as you walk in the door. Lots of brushed stainless steel and wood. I sat at the U shaped bar that was half full. Took about a minute for me to get a menu and some attention. The bartenders seemed preoccupied. This became worse as the night went on since the place closes at 9 pm. But they were nice.
The quality of the beers is excellent with a pretty good selection. I would expect more on tap given the number of beers this place produces, however it is still much better than most places. I had a 9 oz Parabola first. Naturally it was terrific on tap. Then I had Pale 31, Taproom Brown, Hammersmith IPA, and lastly Pivo Pils. The only one I would skip is the Taproom Brown.
Between the store and the brewpub left with a bottle of 2012 Parabola, 3 bottles of 2014 Sucaba, 2 bottles of Velvet Merlin, 1 bottle of the 16th Anniversary, and 1 bottle of the 14th Anniversary. They have an impressive walk in cooler adjacent to the store for your purchasing pleasure. My wallett was much lighter after this visit! However worth it given that I live in Florida.
The food was good but nothing to rave about. If you are in the Central California coast area then I would recommend visiting.

Finally got to the Taproom on New Year's Eve 2013/2014- having passed by it on the 101 the last several years, it was this Beer Lover's near perfect lunch experience. In addition to the variety of Firestone Walker Brews available commercially, the Taproom made available a few non-distributed offerings including a recently awarded IPA- my personal favorite style.
Because my family and I travel from Long Beach to Monterey, CA at least once a year- we now have another compelling destination to break up the drive! Next time we'll hopefully set aside a few extra minutes to take the Brewery tour next door. This is a spectacular Company with a special trajectory- Bravo!

The taproom offers standard, delicious bar food as well as some interesting and creative entrees depending on your mood. Beer selection is pretty good, although if you want the speciality, barrel aged beers (parabola, abacus, etc.) you need to go across the street to the tasting room. Don't fret too much, you can still get classics like Double Jack and Wookey Jack in the taproom.
Service was very friendly and attentive. Staff gave great recommendations both for the taproom and the Paso Robles area, including other restaurants and wineries.
Atmosphere is the biggest drawback. There's a cool bottling line going through the bar area, but aside from that it's no different than a standard sports bar or restaurant interior.
