Notes/Commercial Description:
It's no secret that we like to party, and sometimes it gets wild. So we took the Westbrook's refreshing Gose and cranked up the volume a bit, adding a massive dose of citra & amarillo hops, then fermented it with various strains of brettanomyces... Go Westbrook, it's your birthday, get funky!!

A: 4.25 Looks a lot like and IPA on the pour, though slightly hazier. Light gold with a one inch white head.

S: 4.25 It also smells a bit like an IPA. There’s a strong hop presence bringing citrus and pine. Where it differs is the wheat aroma and lemony tartness. It’s very interesting how the citrus from the hops interact with the lemon and grassiness from the wheat and yeast.

T: 4.5 This beer is much more sour that I was expecting. The wheat flavor is right up front followed quickly by lots of lemon and grass. The hops have a hard time competing with all the acidity but there is a subtle grapefruit flavor in the background and at the end. The aftertaste is one of the more interesting aspects of this beer; as the sourness starts to calm down, there is a light sweetness and some funk that mixes with the strong lemon flavor.

M: 4 The body is very nice on this beer, but the carbonation level is a bit low.

O: 4.25 This is an excellent beer and definitely the most interesting gose I’ve had to date. The hops were not quite as strong as I was expecting, so I wish I had another to cellar for a bit and see where it goes.

650 mL bottle poured into a snifter.

Appearance - Hazy pale body. Yellow. Nice white head. Retains well.

Smell - Intense citrus. Grapefruit. Lychee. Very acidic. Really nice.

Taste - Wow. That fruit flavor is intense. Lychee. Grapefruit. Pleasantly tart. Very light grain. The lightest brininess in the finish.

Mouthfeel - Light. Sour. Awesome.

Overall - I wish every beer could be as flavorful as this at such a low ABV.
