from 22oz. have had many tastes but this is the first time being able to sit down with a full glass. foil over cap, a bit of rust around the cap, hope that isn't a bad sign. an '10 bottle.
A: golden orange, billowing white head that is foamy and very slow to subside. liquid is slightly hazy but i can make out bubbles rising from the other side of the glass.
S: very fruity at first - pears, bananas, hint of apples and oranges. dust and slight oxidation afterwards, followed by typical saison yeast. a bit of malty sweetness to the smell towards the end, almost honey like.
T: malt forward, a little bit of hop bitterness than back to almost a cloying malt-liquor like sweetness. hints of citrus, orange and lemon are present. has not held up well with aging. bread-like, possibly munich and vienna flavors linger.
M: medium bodied, smooth, carbonated but not astringent, despite the billowing head and constant foaming.
O: tasty beer that didn't hold up to one year of cellaring. somewhat of a disappointment on that front as the fresher version's hops balance the malt much more. i'm a fan and will still seek out, but only when fresh. nice aromas don't match the taste anymore.

Light straw, clumpy lace. Nose and taste are lemons, zest, cloves, spice. Nose is a lot less than taste tho.. Full bodied and in your face from first sip, as is Stillwater's wont, tho the taste does feel somewhat over spiced thus disconnected. Almost like a favour had been added too late. Dry finish and zesty palate
Good drinking tho.

Poured from a 12oz bottle into a tulip
A - Slightly hazy burnt orange/amber body with plenty of bubbles racing to the top. 2-finger pure white head that retains for the entire experience; literally never fades. The carbonation just keep building that head back up. Beautiful lacing. One of the more pleasing beers to look at.
S - A very good balance of yeast, hops, and sweetness. I love the saison yeast in the nose which is followed by mild citrus peel and just a very light touch of flowery hops.
T&M - Lively carbonation makes this a drier beer, but not nearly as dry as champagne. Still retains a nice thirst-quenching character. I really like the balance of yeast and hops in this beer. A hoppier saison for sure but the yeast keeps telling you it's a Belgian-style saison. Hops give a citrus peel bitterness likened to kumquat and lemon peel. A small dose of candy sugar and malts sweetens things up just a bit.
O - I really liked this and could definitely down a few of these. Saison-dry while remaining refreshing. Great flavors throughout the experience.
