Appearance: Pours a medium deep gold into a goblet. A fine one-finger head settles in and leaves nice sheets of lacing as I work my way through the glass.
Smell: Hops pop first in the nose, bringing with them a big dose of citrus. The spiciness that you expect in a saison follows closely behind, along with some subtle herbal notes. A not unpleasant hint of alcohol burn lurks around the edges and hints at the ABV.
Taste: Citrus notes from the hops initially dominate, although huge shots of black pepper keep this from veering off the road and into American IPA territory. There’s not as much funk as I usually prefer in a saison; instead of a barnyard, I get more of a freshly cut lawn. Maybe it has something to do with zoning. Anyway, I wouldn’t grade it down for that aspect; it’s just another way of coming at the style.
Mouthfeel: Medium bodied. The finish is crisply bitter but still pretty big; this isn’t one to knock back indiscriminately.
Drinkability: Medium to high, depending on your hop tolerances and preferences.

330 ml bottle, cloudy golden colour with really good lacing. Smell has some apricot and a full fruity yeast aroma, banana, hay and pale malt, sweet a bit with also a ton of complexity. Taste is got a hefty carbonation with some banana and grape flavours, some cinnamon and bready malts, some peach and slight barny flavours, a bit of a hay overload before coming to a full finish with a bit of a high hop bitterness, finish then dries out. A ballsy full flavoured saison, some of the alcohol comes through and eventually it become apparent this is not up to the highest standards despite a full flavour. Pretty solidly built saison though, lot of flavour and good stylistically, perhaps my criticisms were a bit too harsh as it's quite tasty.

Light straw, clumpy lace. Nose and taste are lemons, zest, cloves, spice. Nose is a lot less than taste tho.. Full bodied and in your face from first sip, as is Stillwater's wont, tho the taste does feel somewhat over spiced thus disconnected. Almost like a favour had been added too late. Dry finish and zesty palate
Good drinking tho.
