12 oz bottle, poured into a goblet

Appearance: Pours a pretty, cloudy, golden color with two full fingers of white-colored head that quickly dissolved into a thin lacing of foam that covered the entire top of the beer.

Aroma: Very aromatic! Lots of bready, toasted malt up front, followed by floral notes of straw, clover, sage, lavender, thyme and coriander. I also get notes of Belgian yeast, pineapple, a touch of grapefruit, honey and ginger.

Taste: Very, very good! Strong flavors of bready toasted malt and the aforementioned flavors of honey, pineapple, grapefruit, ginger, sage, lavender, thyme, coriander and honey. There are also lots of citrusy flavors of orange peel and lemon peel. Finally, and strangely, at the finish there is a touch of an unpleasant metallic flavor, sort of coppery.

Mouthfeel: Medium-bodied to slightly thin, and pretty effervescent as there is quite a good amount of carbonation to tickle the taste buds. With an ABV of 6.8%, there is no alcohol on the palate.

Overall: This is a really good American version of a Belgian saison. Very nice citrus flavors balanced with a bready, slightly sweet overtone. The only thing keeping this beer from being great or even outstanding is that slight metallic taste in the finish.

My 100th review, after a long break I'm back.

This beer pours out hazy with that quintessential rocky white head. Lots of bubble streams. High points, just wish it was clearer. Smell is pretty strong a combo of grass/earth and citrus, very complex. It has big complex flavor that brings to mind apricot and spices (coriander perhaps). The flavor is actually a little too complex; this beer should age well. The mouthfeel is pretty prickly clears out quickly enough with a mild, dry, bitter aftertaste.

This is one of the best domestic Saisons I've had - the complexity of the smell and flavor keep me interested. The mouthfeel, however, is very prickly, but the finish is pretty great. This would probably be a fantastic beer from a keg or aged for year in a bottle.

I've been eager to try this one for quite sometime... Two fingers worth of big fizzy slightly off white colored comprised of big and bigger chunky bubbles... Decent retention... The color is pale hazy lemony straw yellow... A light to moderate bit of carbonation can be seen towards the top of the glass in small streaks... The aroma is led by a big punch of lemon zest at the forefront... Some hay and fresh cut grass... Some very subtle Belgian yeast undertones... The aroma is world class... The flavor profile is almost equally exquisite... The lemon zest is again at the forefront... There are rich layer or grassy and earthy notes... The faint Belgian yeast is also quite noticeable palate... There is a faint bit of candied sugars as well... The faintest hint of pepper on the deep finish... The end result is a very nice, deeply complex and world class flavor profile... The mouthfeel is on the fuller side of light bodied... Spry with loads of prickly carbonation... A bit chalky throughout... Color me impressed by this offering... This is a top notch Saison that I would welcome in my glass anytime and one that I would also highly recommend...

Poured from a 12 oz bottle into a mason jar, unfortunately couldn't make out a bottling date.

Three finger head receded to a two finger with surprising resilience, lasting nearly to the end of the glass. Laced all the way down, a heady brew to be sure.

Aromas of coriander and grassy barnyard in relatively equal measure. Very mild orange citrus but the spice/earth qualities overwhelm it. Carbonation isn't immediately noticeable in looking at the beer but the mouthfeel makes it much more apparent. Surprisingly effervescent for the style.

Hop bitterness in the finish was pronounced, combining with the grassy notes to really put the farm in farmhouse saison. The flavor profile stays with you well after you've swallowed this beer.

Another Two Roads production, this is worth trying if you get a chance.

Bottled sometime in mid-summer, by the looks of the code on the bottle (I believe it lists the day number, in this case day 219 of 2014, which makes its birth date–according to Google–August 7). Holds up just fine more than 4 months later!

Appearance: Beautiful clear straw yellow and tightly bubbled bone white head. Head is extremely persistent. Good to see in Stillwater beers. Have had some disappointly carbonated ones before.

Smell: Nose is like a hoppy hefeweizen--lots of yeasty banana, clove, sugar and spicy-herbal notes leap from the glass. One note that really is jumping out at me is mint. Strange but that's what I get.

Taste: Starts mildly sweet and lightly spicy--banana and clove yeast notes very present. Then in the back half, it's like the beer turns old school IPA. It's massively grassy and lightly fruity in its hop profile.

Mouthfeel --What a nice ride on the tongue. Vigorous carbonation makes the fruity/spicy yeast flavors really pop and clear the great dryness from the palate. Outstanding flow from front to back.

In sum, one of the best hoppy saisons I've ever had the pleasure of drinking. The yeast and hops work really well–hop selection here I think was key, as the use of more grassy, clean, and lightly fruity hops play well off the yeast's spiciness. A super beer that is great to see in 4-packs.

Wow, I am usually a fan of the style but not familiar with the brewer. But I had heard good things so I was optimistic. Bummer! Not a bad initial taste but very off on the finish. A metallic taste that lingers with something that was off. Had a decent saison smell, although still something off, overall barely got over a 3 from me who is generally over average and definitely for this style. Maybe it just caught me on a bad day but for me there was something off that I could not put my finger on.
