I had this beer on-tap in a tulip at the Brave Horse Tavern in Seattle.

Appearance: nice, smooth golden hue with a light haze and a finger of frothy ivory foam leaving a little lace on the glass. Not bad.

Smell: sweet, lightly malty and wiht a green, springy hop character. Light and fluffy; I like it.

Taste: quite malty and sweet, getting close to tripel territory here. Those same notes of green, grassy and springy come through from the aroma. There's not a strong alcohol heat, which helps the balance; overall I quite like it.

Mouthfeel: medium body but with a big carbonation and a very, very nice creaminess. Wonderful.

Overall: a very nice BSPA, almost bordering on a hoppy tripel. I am down with this beer.

Mild floral hoppy aroma. Medium carbonation. Taste is a nice light hop with a yeasty backbone. Very light for a 9% abv beer. Definitely pick one up if you can

On tap at the brewpub, light yellow pour, nice fruity Belgian spice, dry light bitter finish.

Taste is very complex and interesting. Hints of dryness but with a silky smooth sweetness and a surprisingly medium full body perception. Alcohol is well hidden. "Funk" is subtle and adds more complexity than actual assertive flavors. A joy to sip on, my only wish is that is was a little lighter in mouthfeel and more digestible.

So this is my second Stillwater beer. This one was not as disappointing as the first but I am confused about the ratings. Something off about the beer, I am really struggling to put my finger on it. To much bad after taste, sticks to the back of the tongue. Everything else seems good, but the off aftertaste kills the beer for me. I am thinking that there is something in stillwater that does not work for me. Hope you enjoy as much as the rAvg.

Pale golden pour, no foam, a few stray bubbles. Translucent; not totally clear. Earthy scent, with a hint of alcohol. Strong "Belgian" tangy taste, but fairly dry, not very fruity or sweet. Hoppy, slightly bitter finish with a zing from carbonation. Fairly "dry" mouthfeel, light, bubbly, pleasant. Finish turns a little sour after a while. Overall, pretty pleasant with a few of the flavors a little off.

Hazy light golden, small white head, quick to just a very poor lace and almost nothing else.
Lemon, some cherry plum, some apricot, yellow apple, faint quince, so pretty nice and fruity on the nose. Honey. Belgian yeasts and hop make up nice lemongrass, spring flowers, coriander, faint peppermint, faint heather.
Feels a bit saison-oriented from the start. Nice orchard fruit, lots of apple and pear, a bit of quince, with a nice mildly tart yellow cherry and light lemon zing to freshen things up. Dry grainy malts, straw, honey sweetness. Great spicy yeasts, lots of clove, coriander, white pepper, floral tea. Never too heavy on the yeasts, but plenty flavorful. Finishes with spicy hops, not too strong and bitter, so safe from becoming a Belgian IPA.
Aftertaste is really nice, with clear clove lingering on the palate, generic blond fruit, some honey sweetness and a light herbal feel. Medium body, medium carbonation, just a bit prickly, a tiny bit dry too.
Great stuff, really nice flavors without going out of the style.
