Bottled 6/28/13.

Pours a hazy yellow with a foamy white head that settles to wisps of film on top of the beer. Thin streaks of lace form around the glass on the drink down. Small particles of sediment are seen floating in the beer after the pour. Smell is of malt, grain, yeast, and citrus and pineapple-like aromas. Taste is much the same with grain, yeast, and fruity flavors on the finish. I am not sure if there is Brett in this one, but it does have a similar aspect in the taste. There is a mild amount of hop and yeast bitterness on the palate with each sip. This beer has a good level of carbonation with a crisp mouthfeel. Overall, this is a good beer that has some really nice aromas and flavors that make it super easy to drink.

On tap at Acme Bar and Pizza in Rochester, NY.

Pours a hazy golden, slightly orange. Large, 2 inch head that sticks around. Small amounts of lacing.

Smells like lemons and apples, with some floral and grassy aromas as well.

The taste has the same fruits, with a stronger floral presence, plus some mild Brett-like funk, apple cider, clove, black pepper. Spicy finish.

Well carbonated and hazy, with a full body and dry mouthfeel.

A great Belgian inspired ale from Stillwater.

Always happy to see new beers from Stillwater coming around.

A- Poured from the 12oz bottle into a snifter with a slightly hazy golden-apricot body. Small white builds up to about one finger with a super foamy, fizzy texture. Retention is pretty low as the head bubbles out in a short period of time. Spotty lacing in small amounts.

S- Reminiscent of a Saison yeast I have used for homebrew. Lemony citrus, tangerine stone fruit and tartness with nice earthy, herbal and floral hints. Mostly yeast influenced but some hops secondary to that.

T- Follows a pleasant aroma but opens up with some good complexity. One main difference is a pronounced stone fruit apricot and tangerine flavor really picking up. The spicy and herbal yeast is quite strong with hints of peppercorns, lemongrass, orange zest citrus, apple and pears. Hops in the finish blend in with spicy and grassy notes.

MF- Moderate bodied with a medium-dry feel. Texture is pretty creamy and silky with nice smooth high end carbonation. Spicy and hoppy bitterness lingers on the palate in the finish with no sign of 9% ABV.

Another interesting brew from Stillwater. I like the interplay between the spicy yeast and the stone-citrus fruit hops. Drinks very easy for 9% and lots of interesting nuances of flavor.

Poured from a 12 ounce bottle into a DFH signature glass. Stamped 6/23/13.

A: Not much head on a hazy, golden beer.

S: Smells yeasty, with a hint of tartness or funk. A bit reminiscent of a saison. Some fruit as well -- citrus peel, banana, pear, grape.

T: It is tasty, but perhaps unexceptional. Yeast-forward, with a muted tropical fruit and musty floral spice. The endtaste is dry and lingering. Very much like a saison.

M: Dry and crisp; complex and interesting.

O: A good beer, but less captivating than I was hoping. I would not have again.
