rudzud convinced me to get this, so a nice trade thanks to crapturds (reddit).
Pours a nice sized fizzy almost 2 finger head that fades at a med pace, decent soapy lacing, hazy caramel orange colored beer.
NOse brings tons of bourbon, bourbon barrel juice galore, vanilla oaky barrel aromas, with a little zesty lemon and nice Brett funk underneath, nice overall funk level and a nice farmhouse funk, nice saison like spices and lemony notes, grassy and little toasty malt, wet hay, bright and floral funk. Very nice.
Taste brings more funk right off, more bright farmhouse Brett funk with little lemony notes, wet hay, grainy and toasty saison notes, and a little lemony citrus zest. Then bourbon kicks in, again fresh barrel juice but a little less intense as the nose, with more toasty vanilla oak. Floral and grassy, pretty bright all around again. Finish is dry but a little sticky, bit of bitterness and faint booze warmth, little funk lingering, mild bourbon barrel lingering as well. Ther'es also a little bit of a lemon rind floral slight pine like hop note late on the back end, with some bitterness to it.
Mouth is med bod, lots of carbonation, just a hint of warming booze late.
Overall very nice, great Brett funk with nice saison like base beer, and great bourbon barrel flavors and aromas, they go together pretty well for a very nice tasty beer. THanks for the recommendation Matt!
Note, how does this have such a low rating?! It delivers exactly what it should, great Brett and bourbon barrel, with a nice base beer, nothing wrong at all. All "hads" too, probably had at some festival and they're taste buds were destroyed by other items and this wasn't strong enough to come through. The reason I'm not a fan of the hads, I have no idea why you didn't like this awesome beer.

Received this as an extra in a trade and poured into my Duvel tulip. This is a Pale Ale aged in Sazerac Rye whiskey barrels with a "heavy" amount of brett.
A - Pours a very nice crystal clear rich amber honey hue with a nice off white two finger head that fades to leave a nice light blanket and spotty lacing.
S - Aromas of light barnyard funk, super faint green apples, light brett (though the nose lends one to think that there is MUCH more brett than noticeable). Very light oak barrels, faint faint dried fruits. Faint, faint Sazerac Rye whiskey going on here. Light touched of caramel and hay.
T - Taste is not bad. Starts off nicely tart with light brett funk that gets stronger as the sip goes. Nice caramel and oak from the barrel with good rye spice as well. Tarter apples mingle nicely with caramel and the rye whiskey. Faint vanilla. This is a pretty interesting beer, sour apples, oak, rye whiskey, brett, and light light oaky butter
M - Mouthfeel is rather brightly carbonated. Very very easy drinking.
O - Overall this was a very very fun beer. Pretty interesting with a nice gambit of things going on. Using rye whiskey was definitely the right choice here. Not sure how brett heavy this will get with time. Drinking nice now, has to be a high ABV though as while the alcohol is not noticeable it definitely hits afterwards.
