The color is a clean shade of cognac with a sprite and lively fizz for a head.

The aromas are tart and cidery, with a cherry fruitiness and a strong balsamic vinegar.

The taste and feel is very dry and it hits with a greatness but never hurts. Smooth sour cherries and cider are strong on the tongue but it doesn't make you wince or pucker.

This is funky in that it's vinegar aroma is too strong for my taste but not funky at all in flavor. In fact it's the lack of funk that makes this an easy tasteful ride.

22 ounce bottle. Served in a tulip, the beer pours a hazy orange color with a half inch off-white head that sticked around for a while. There's also a decent amount of lacing. I like the aroma, the brew smells like vinegar, lemon, citrus peel, apples, and some oak. Taste is similar to the aroma, but there's also some vanilla noticeable too. Mouthfeel/body is medium, it's a bit slick with a moderate amount of carbonation. I think it's a good brew, I'd like to pick up another bottle of this at some point. Rivertown is one of the few breweries right now in Ohio that's making a point to brew sour/wild ales on a regular basis, and they're doing a good job of it. I think this one is certainly worth trying, $13.99 a bomber.
