Wit Ale brewed by Rivertown Brewing Co with an ABV of 5.1%. This brew pours out cloudy amber color with a nice white head. It is an unfiltered brew you can not see thought it. The smell is rich with some grain and bitterness. There is nothing overpowering in the the smell of this brew. The taste is sweet and smooth. There is nothing bad about the taste of this brew. The mouthfeel is nice and clean. There is no bad aftertaste. Wit Ale is a nice, clean drinking brew. Overall, I'm giving this this brew a 4.25 out of 5. I would get this brew again.

Pours a hazy orange with a frothy white head. Smell is mostly orange peel, lemon zest, coriander, and some yeast notes. The taste has a good amount of spice, the citrus comes through as well, along with a yeast kick. A medium mouthfeel, the spice gives some harshness to the tongue. Overall a tasty beer, if it was a bit smoother I think I would have enjoyed it more.

12oz bottle (no date) served in a pilsner glass.

Appearance: Very hazy to cloudy yellow-orange amber. Off white persistent thin foam across the top the whole way down the glass. Occasional thick sheets of lacing that slowly slid back down and joined the original foam.

Smell: Grainy and yeasty, mostly yeasty.

Taste: Wheat tang, spiciness, part American wheat ale, part Wit, part Hefeweizen. The latter I got every now and then in the malt with a hint of clove and hefe type malt sweetness. I couldn't pull out the lemon zest from the other flavors, and at times it seemed like the beers dominant flavors changed with each sip. Certainly interesting if not consistent in flavor.

Mouthfeel: Spicy on the tongue, otherwise nothing special and just a hair above water in thickness.

Overall / Drinkability: Went well with a chef's salad, and I would probably take another if offered. An interesting take on a Wit ale - much darker than I was expecting, and not as light and airy in mouthfeel, but good. I've had better Wits, and I've had worse.
