Pours lightly hazy reddish orange with a small off-white head. The aroma has tart lemon, blackberries, vanilla, oak, light funk, blue cheese and has a nice blend of tartness and smoothness. Medium / light crisp refreshing body that still has some lush smoothness and a mild amount of carbonation. The flavor starts with oaky woodiness, sharp lemon, sour blackberry, some wild bugs, bits of vinegar and blackberry pith. The finish is very dry, sour and rustic.

The beer is hazy and golden with a small white head. The aroma offers blackberries, Iambic type funk, citrus, perhaps a touch of wine. Nice flavor. Tart and funky. Grape skins, berries, oak, vanilla. Well-balanced. Relatively light in body with a tangy finish. Another nice beer from the folks at Rivertown.

750 ml bottle, vintage 2012, poured into a tulip glass.

A- Pours a murky orange-ish ochre color, produces a thin off-white head that quickly dissipates.

S- Nice tartness, wheat, blackberries, cherry, vinous oak and vanilla. Smells very nice.

T- A restrained fruitiness is the first thing you notice, blackberries as well as red grape and cherry. Tartness is present more towards the finish, but remains relatively restrained. There's also a dry mustiness, some oak and a bit of vanilla.

M- Medium-bodied, smooth feel with a very dry finish.

O- A solid, if not stellar, sour. There's a nice amount of complexity here, and it's very drinkable stuff. Hopefully we'll see more beer in this vein from Rivertown in the future.
