I don't even know where to begin with the thanks. Sean (Sean9689) decided to pull out this beer I thought I'd never get to try. Massive thanks Sean!!!! 750 ml bottle served in a Portsmouth tulip.

A: Pours a hazy golden amber color with a frothy white head that leaves some sticky, splotchy lace as it slowly makes its way down the glass.

S: There's really a lot going on in this nose. Sweet and tart berry. Some slight tangy blueberry, sweaty funk and some mild oak.

T: More berry combination. Tart blueberry, sweet strawberry, and a mildly sour lemon grass. Oaky vanilla sweetness with some nice funky after tones.

M: medium to light bodied with a nice carbonation. The finish is drying and refreshing at the same time.

O: Well a huge thanks Sean (again) for busting out this rarity. It was still incredibly delicious and vibrant after all this time and it was treat to have. I'm very happy to have knocked this off my "never going to have" list. But Sean wasn't done with this one...

Bottle poured into a 3F stem. Enjoyed 12/7/2013. Thanks rfraga7!

Pour is a deep orange, with two fingers of off white, frothy head. Head retains for a while, and leaves some nice lacing. Smell is incredible, and easily the highlight of this beer - bright, juicy tropical fruits (mango, papaya), some lemony bite, and wrapped up in a clean, musty funk (cobwebs, basement, some hay). Taste is impressive, but not as much so as the nose. More tropical fruits that are slightly subdued. A nice lemony bite, and a delicious mineral funk. Finish develops this floral, grassy, perfume aspect that is enjoyable, but mildly offputting. Quite drinkable, with a medium level of sourness. Finish is dry. A top notch geuze that was a pleasure to have, but falls short of Blauw but quite a bit.
