Thick head, lots of bubbles. Nice gold color, somewhat opaque.
The smell contained sharp, stinging lemon and grape with sour undertones.
Of all the Gueuzes I've had, the acidity in this one hit me the hardest. For the first few steps, the acidity overwhelmed everything else. As my tastebuds adjusted, the beer seemed settle into a more laid-back drink.
The flavor didn't settle out into a strong apple or lemon taste like many of the other beers in this category. The taste had small hints of cheese and sweet onion.
The beer didn't feel heavy at all and the sharp acid taste lifted fairly quickly. The beer had a somewhat warming feeling, almost as if it could take the place of a dark winter beer.
I couldn't get really excited about the taste, although I still enjoyed drinking it.
