750 ml poured into tumbler.
A: Pours a hazy, semi-opaque apricot with light-orange highlights. 2-finger head dies quickly and leaves no lacing.
S: Lactobacillus, lemon and apple cider vinegar in the nose. Also quite a bit of barnyard funk; tart & sour for sure.
T: Holy shit. Acidic lemon/vinegary tartness quickly fades into a mellow barnyard flavor. Grassy center follows through into a beautifully soft and dry finish of green apple. Indescribable.
M: Spritzy and crisp, very much like a decent champagne. This geuze is creamier than most offerings, although very nice for the style. The lack of vinegar in the finish (common in lesser geuzes) makes this the most drinkable geuze i've ever had.
O: So beautiful and so complex, I can't think of anywhere near a better geuze. Beats Cantillon by far in my mind.
The best geuze I've ever had.
