Bottle dated Dec 5th 2012. Always a favorite of mine.

A: Hazy and glowing burnt orange body topped with a massive pillowy head that occupies about 2/3 of the glass on a gentle pour. Highly effervescent.

S: Bright, acidic lemon and green apple, rounded out with white wine skins. Musty cheese and barnyard notes emerge further as it warms. Wonderful aroma.

T: Complex mix of tart lemon juice and white wine followed by a sweeter note of fruit and a touch of floral honey. Notes of musty oak and pleasant minerality close out the flavor. Not overpowering in any regard but has remarkable depth of flavor. Ridiculously succulent and drinkable.

M: Light bodied and highly carbonated. Very fine bubbles reminiscent of champagne pair well with a very dry finish.

O: Just a fantastic Gueuze. Literally a benchmark of the style and it shows. Beautifully complex aroma and flavor, and each sip literally leaves your mouth watering and craving more. Could drink this every single day without any issue.

I am pretty sure this is my favorite beer on the planet. I just simply cannot bring myself to give anything a perfect score because what is perfect? Call me jaded, call me what you will, but there is always room for improvement, no matter how subtle.

Golden blonde colour, 1.5 fingers of white head, little in the way of lace. Smell is funky, acidic fruits, lemon and green apple, musty citrus underlying, oaky barnyard closer. Taste is sour upfront with a bit of lactic-cheese flavour like in the girardin white label though not as strong, funky musty fruits, lemony with a dry oak finish. Medium carbonation, dry, medium feel. Solid stuff, tasty and worthy of being a top tier offering of the style.

750 mL bottle purchased at Sunset Corners in Miami, FL, 2012 vintage (dated "2012, dec 7th), drank over an hour out of a hotel-style glass

A: 3/3 - golden-orange coloration, little clarity (cannot see or read through), initial frothy off-white rocky head settles into a 1/2 finger lacing with high retention, moderate legs

S: 10/12 - barnyard aroma predominates - wet hay, horsey and borderline enteric; some tart fruit notes too - acidic/sour lemon and lime; no malts, hops or alcohol on the nose for me

T: 16/20 - matches the nose nicely with lots of barnyard funk complexity throughout the taste profile; some gentle wheat and alcohol notes provide balance

M: 5/5 - moderate body, spritzy/champagne-like carbonation and some surprising creaminess provided by the high retention; one of the real highlights of this beer for me

O: 9/10 - expected this to be an excellent Gueze and Armand didn't disappoint with this blend; definitely worth the $22.99 price point and eager to try some homebrewed sours with 3F dregs

TOTAL - 43/50
