A 375ml bottle dated 03 NOV 2011. Got the wire cage about half way undone when the cork went off like a fucking rocket(did not foam over however). Left a dent in the ceiling. Don't look down the barrel when opening this one.

A: Amber, orange, golden would all fit. Large rocky, white head and easily the most vigorous bubbling I've seen in a glass.

S: Sour, sweaty, and earthy(like dirt/earthworms). Some sweetness is also detectable.

T&M: Very earthy, and tart. Makes my mouth water like crazy. Incredible effervescence and dances on the tongue like its fighting to not go down. Geuze guts anyone? An after taste of salty sweat.

O: Enjoyable and refreshing but hard to find at a decent price. I'm glad I tryed it but no where near as complex as I was hoping. It was nice to have a Geuze that was devoid of the dreaded acetone/nail polish remover flavor(I'm looking at you Experimental Cassis).

A: It had a pale golden yellow body with a minimal white head.

S: Estery sour aroma. The aroma is very mild compared to many other geuzes I've had. There is a subtle sour apple present.

T: Harsh edges around the ester sour flavors. Despite the harshness, still a good flavor.

M: Very thin with very sharp carbonation.

O: Good beer. Worth trying at least once.

375ml Bottle poured into a Mikkeller tulip

A - Hazy, burnt orange with golden accents. Tons of carbonation in this one which is seen trailing upwards. Huge rocky head that settles down to a layer of foam. This sucker was also under a lot of pressure as the cork blew out the second I removed the cage.

S - Grassy, barnyard funkiness and slight blue cheese are the main components. There is slight lemon, light acidic sweettart, and white vinegar as well

T - Up front the beer is tart with lemon and white vinegar. Then, you get a strong funkiness that is grassy, and earthy blue cheese funk. The light tart lemon carries on through the funk. The finish is big funk still and slight oak

MF - Lots of carbonation and almost makes you want to pucker from the tartness. Dry finish from the oak and lemon

O - Really a great Gueuze that is tart yet has a lot amount of earthy funk.it reminds me of a tarter and funkier version of Orval, which is a good thing. Lots of carbonation as well. Curious to see what aging does to this.
