WOW! Bottled March of 2010
This bottle was opened as a going away present for me, what an honor.
A: Pours with a great head, that left amazing lacing! Color was like a very light orange. Slight haziness to it.
S: Pungent, Tart, Musty, Earthy
T: Amazing, This beer captures what an old old beer spontaneously fermented from Belgium would taste like, I haven't had many but and I'm afraid i set the bar pretty high with this one. Amazing depth of flavor. Great funk that isn't overpowering at all. Enough for my wife to say, "i think there is something off in that" and me to say "Oh no that what a Gueuze is suppose to taste like" Flavor changes as you move it around in your mouth and as the beer warms up.
M: Light, great carbonation, you can def feel the effect of the lactic after a while too!

750ml bottle with foil and C&C. Poured into a Cantillon stemmed glass 5/19/2014.
A- hazy brown-orange body, much like a lighter apple cider. Effervescent two finger white head with great retention, nice film and some lacing.
S- Very intense, funk-forward nose. Peppercorns, lemon rind, grape skin, musty hay, leather, tangerines, lactic acid. So much going on. Impressive.
F- Bold and aggressive. Citrus, lemon zest, apple skin, musty hay, black pepper, lots and lots of funk that dominates the palate. Just enough yogurt lacto in the dregs to make me smile. A vinous finish reminds me of a nice champagne.
M- Medium bodied, perfectly carbonated and not too fizzy; nicely effervescent and drinks with a real pop! Funky, musty and lemony finish.
O- I see why many argue that this is the best of the 4. I liked Zomer's subtlety that didn't sacrifice much intensity, but this is right in your face intense and incredibly complex. A lambic for the ages.
