750mL corked and caged bottle poured into a tulip. Major thanks to Kevan for sharing!
(A)- Pours a hazy golden orange color. Produced a wonderful cap of white froth. Surprising retention that still kept some froth present with the last sip.
(S)- A great combination of dry straw cheesy funk combined with an earthy lemon rind and acidic oak. Even has a subtle hint of orange citrus at the end as it opens up in the glass.
(T)- Just wonderful. Similar to the smell in alot of ways. It is funky, but restrained. Superb showing of sour oak with bits of grassy straw and subtle citrus. Extremely dynamic and my words fail to really describe this one as it is in the glass. It really starts to show some nice citrus notes at it opens up and warms with orange, lemon, and grapefruit.
(M)- A lively carbonation level that combines so well with the vibrant oak, funk, and sour fruit. The dynamic play in this is spectacular and each sip is just as rewarding as the first, if not more so.
(O)- Practically perfect in every way. Such a dynamic and vibrant play on what a Gueuze can be like. Each sip brought some new flavors to the palate in such a fantastic way that, again, my words only scratch the surface on this one. Simply fantastic!

750ml bottle with foil and C&C. Poured into a Cantillon stemmed glass 5/19/2014.
A- hazy brown-orange body, much like a lighter apple cider. Effervescent two finger white head with great retention, nice film and some lacing.
S- Very intense, funk-forward nose. Peppercorns, lemon rind, grape skin, musty hay, leather, tangerines, lactic acid. So much going on. Impressive.
F- Bold and aggressive. Citrus, lemon zest, apple skin, musty hay, black pepper, lots and lots of funk that dominates the palate. Just enough yogurt lacto in the dregs to make me smile. A vinous finish reminds me of a nice champagne.
M- Medium bodied, perfectly carbonated and not too fizzy; nicely effervescent and drinks with a real pop! Funky, musty and lemony finish.
O- I see why many argue that this is the best of the 4. I liked Zomer's subtlety that didn't sacrifice much intensity, but this is right in your face intense and incredibly complex. A lambic for the ages.
