750mL c&c at RBSG in Philly
Ap: The pour is a cloudy peach with a generous white head. Excellent white lacing.
N: Heavy Brett in the nose like J&J Blauw with lemon, flowers, rose, hibiscus. Mild cheesy funk comes through along with moldy grapefruit rind and sweet Valencia orange. Really approaching a superlative nose. There is definitely a bread crust earthiness to the nose with sharp lemon, wheat, and lemon zest. Perhaps something like sesame breadsticks.
T: Taste is loaded with tangy red grapefruit giving more of a citrus smack akin to Cantillon geuze and dissimilar to J&J Blauw. Pretty Brett forward geuze that is quite soft and easy to savor. Fresh, floral, and much softer than the Zomer of Herfst.
P: Soft palate rather than sour and leathery. Very beautiful geuze and completely insane that it is already this good with no age on it. I can see how someone could get sesame breadsticks out of this nose.
Overall refreshing, light, Brett-forward. Much better than J&J Blauw doing a side by side as this is good to go now and J&J Blauw is on the decline.

750ml bottle with foil and C&C. Poured into a Cantillon stemmed glass 5/19/2014.
A- hazy brown-orange body, much like a lighter apple cider. Effervescent two finger white head with great retention, nice film and some lacing.
S- Very intense, funk-forward nose. Peppercorns, lemon rind, grape skin, musty hay, leather, tangerines, lactic acid. So much going on. Impressive.
F- Bold and aggressive. Citrus, lemon zest, apple skin, musty hay, black pepper, lots and lots of funk that dominates the palate. Just enough yogurt lacto in the dregs to make me smile. A vinous finish reminds me of a nice champagne.
M- Medium bodied, perfectly carbonated and not too fizzy; nicely effervescent and drinks with a real pop! Funky, musty and lemony finish.
O- I see why many argue that this is the best of the 4. I liked Zomer's subtlety that didn't sacrifice much intensity, but this is right in your face intense and incredibly complex. A lambic for the ages.
