Bottle served by Armand's wife at the 3F lambikOdroom and shared during a great day of tasting with new friend BA woosterbill and others.

A - Pours clear golden deep brown with three fingers of off-white head. Head has great retention and leaves bits of lacing.

S - Heavy funk with faint citrus notes. Slight aroma of feet and nice musty cheese. Faint earthy/bitter aromas round things out.

T - Has bitter notes very reminiscent of chewing a 1000 mg vitamin C tablet. Taste is mildly acidic but mostly earthy and funky. Lots of grapefruit rind in the finish and some lemon midway through.

M - Medium light crisp mouthfeel has a lingering earthiness and slight bitterness.

O - Not the most acidic geuze, definitely more focused on earthy funk. Still, very enjoyable all around.

Thanks to Dan for this one. 750ml corked and caged bottle into a Cantillon Zwanze Day stemware. Shared with schen9303.

Pours a big, fluffy 4 finger frothy light cream colored head with great retention. Beer is a slightly cloudy dark orange/bronze. Lacing is patchy and thick with moderate cling. A great looking beer.

Nose is crazy aromatic. Rotting, acidic hay, wet wood, cheesy funk, lemon, and tart citrus fruit. Grassy. Real dank and musty. Incredible.

Opens tart. Apricot and citrus. Wet wood, cheesy funk, lemon tartness, and grass. Dried hay in the back tickles the tongue. Cobwebs and grassiness. Real carbonated and prickly. A very light peppery presence right at the end. Aftertaste of tart wet wood. Very good.

Light bodied with moderate to ample carbonation. Prickly and aggressive in the mouth and dry going down. Finishes dry with a lingering, sticky, puckering aftertaste. Nearly perfect.

Easily one of the best gueuzes I've ever come across and on par with the other Armand series beers. This will age with the best of them and I can't wait to see how it mellows out and what other flavors might evolve and develop.

pour was a hazy golden orange, lovely white head, and bright colorful body.

very bright and colorful lemon and oak. vivid cheesy funk. i really tried hard to pick out what armand was going for here in his attempt to depict winter. the bright sharpness reminded me of old winter air.

flavor was very similar, very bright and vivid with sharp tart and our lemon. very dry oak and old musty malt to balance it all out.

mild to moderate carbonation and very dry and "cold".

only had about 2-3 ounces so i have a hard time really rating this against the others. i would have to say i still rate lente and herfst the best, this is about on level with zomer. still, simply amazing.

750 mL bottle poured into a snifter. Bottled 4/22/2010. Reviewed from notes.

Appearance - Big head, orange body. Hazy. A little bit of lacing and brief retention.

Smell - Mild citrus. Acidic lemon and a medium funk. Less intense than the others.

Taste - Really tart. Similar to Zomer in it's acidity. A little vinegar. This one has the herbal notes again, but less so than the Zomer. Puckering finish.

Mouthfeel - Not as dry, but still quite sour. Less complex. Medium carbonation.

Overall - Still a good gueuze, but the least impressive of the four. Feels like the flavors could go wrong at any moment, but it stays the course.

Poured a nice hazy golden orange with a thick and rocky white head.

Great nose, big and balsamic with a nice oaky head.

The flavor has a big bready and tart flavor up front. Very woody and oaky with a very clean herbal finish.

The mouthfeel is very long and dry.

Very nicely drinkable, great gueze.

This one was a part of cmrillo’s 40 Beers* @ 40 Birthday Bash! Shared by cmrillo at his own party! Served from bottle into a Drie Fonteinen ‘3 Fountains’ gueuze glass. Poured a hazy yellow-orange with a three finger white head that subsided to one finger slowly. Maintained nice lacing throughout the glass. The aroma was comprised of sweet malt, lemon zest, citrus, and funk. The flavor was of sweet malt, lemon zest, lemon rine, citrus, funk, and sour. It had a light feel on the palate with high carbonation. Overall this was a fairly great brew. It was very similar to the Herfst we had prior, but not as citrusy. Still a very solid brew from a well recognized brewery. Definitely an absolute must try.
