Poured a 375ml caged and corked champagne style bottle into a tulip. Designated Nᵒ 78 20/21 bottled 09/21/2021. A two finger fine pink head on a cloudy reddish brown. The head diminished to a layer that stuck around..
Acidic fruit in the nose. Cherry.
Wood, leather. Moderately tart Massive long cherry finish. ABV is well hidden.
Smooth and well balanced.
An awesome Kriek. True to the style. Top quality.

375 ml corked & caged green bottle, from Vinmonopolet. ABV is 5%. Like the name says: Intense and deep red colour, small pink head. Strong (but not intense) aroma of sour cherries and cherry kernels, hints of almonds and marzipan. Medium sour and tart flavour of sour cherries, not much sweetness. Good stuff.

Broke this open in celebration of the end of the Spring 2022 semester. Good riddance!

Poured from a bottle into a tulip glass. Murky brownish burgundy color with little head and no lacing. Smell and taste of tart cherries with vanilla and white pepper. Some Granny Smith apple and dry white wine. Excellent with food!

Pours a lovely deep, dark burgundy color. No head to speak of - it essentially looks flat upon being poured. Aroma is dominated by fresh tart cherries with some underlying notes of lactic acid, and some old hops. There is a hint of sweetness, but only insofar as the fruit presents some inherent sweetness.

Taste has strong notes of candied, lightly sweet, very tart cherries. There are some granny smith apple notes, white grape, lingonberry, with some raspberry and strawberry notes. It is very tart - what little sweetness is there in the profile is largely taken over by the tartness. It is very much an amped up version of their kriek. Very nice, but dangerously close to being too tart for me. Feel is medium bodied, tart, producing a puckering sensation when you drink it. Semi-dry.

Overall another outstanding fruited lambic from 3 Fonteinen.

Pours a deep burgundy with a dark cherry tint to it. The final ounces out of the bottle drop the transparency to dull, matte, and opaque, suspending protein in the beer. Head is a finger of pink foam. Aroma is intense cherries, which carry a fleshy, fruity sweetness and a tart finish. Heavy wild flower honey hits after cherries, adding natural sweetness across the board. Green apple, pear, and stone add light notes for the rest of the aroma, developing a little more funky tartness to it. Flavor profile is, again, big cherries, but they focus more on tart than sweet. Wildflower honey is behind again, adding a more mild sweetness than it gives to the aroma. Green apple, pears, green grapes, and stone round out the rest of the profile. Tartness and funkiness is much lower in the flavor profile than the aroma. Acidity is very mild. Mouth feel is a still boiled texture with very light silt. Thickness is medium. Overall, a sublime lambic that utilizes cherries for positive gain.

18|19 season. Blend n.118. ABV of 6.6%. Bottled 17OCT19, consumed / reviewed 13MARCH22. 375mL bottle served into a 15.5oz Spiegelau tulip.
