12oz bottle received in trade today from maximum12--big thanks!
Clear, maroon elixir poured in SA glass. Tight one finger, white head retains until first few sips then settles and remains. Plenty of lacing.
The aroma is perfect for an English IPA: big biscuit malt, hops, fruit.
Initial mild hop bitterness gives way to malt backbone, some fruity esters round out the aftertaste.
Smooth, almost creamy with light carbonation.
This is a nice representation of the English style IPA. Though I prefer in your face hoppiness, this does justice to it's style.

On draft at The Local, Minneapolis.
Dark amber with off white film.
Resin and apricot on the nose.
Toast, chocolate, butterscotch, and burnt orange hops with some lean bitterness.
Medium, chewy, round.
Some odd notes, but a steady IPA overall. Departs from the usual IPA profile, but I’m not sure how purposeful that is - why the all the dark crystal malts? Not very English either. Mostly sessionable, if curious.
