Enjoyed from a 12 oz. shortie style brown glass bottle.
A: Pours a nice deep amber honey color. Huge head with a decent lacing.
S: Smells of banana esters, cakebread and hay.
T: Pleasant soft taste of vanilla, banana and sweet malts on the front. Very kind on the pallete with little bitterness from the hops. Middle is marked by cheesy/woody notes common to Belgian pale strong ales. Reminds me of a good hearty emmentaller swiss cheese. Warming due to the alcohol content but alcohol is easily and well masked.
M: Soft and smooth on the tongue with only slight carbonation. A very easy and tasty drinker.
O: Excellent trappist/abby style brew. Definitely worth drinking any time of the year.
