Being a fan of Trappist Monk brews, I was intrigued by this one being brewed by Benedictine Monks and wanted to give it a try.
I poured the Maredsous 10 into a Chimay glass to open it up and was immediately impressed by the creamy pour, appearance, and head. The medium-amber color is very inviting and I was a little disappointed by the weaker nose. However, the Maredsous redeemed itself by the taste. It tasted very light on the tongue with hints of caramel and spice. Very drinkable and deceptive in its light taste (10.0% ABV) - this one can captivate in the same way a Duvel can.
