Let me start off to say that I never was really fond of Tripel. Recently a colleague of mine more or less forced me to drink a Karmeliet tripel. Being a bit hesitant at first I was very surprised that I really enjoyed it. So, that's why I decided to open this bottle that was already in my fridge for over one year... present from the same colleague.
A: A nice orange/golden color with a thick white head.
S: Hops, malts, fruit sweetness.
T: Again hops and malts. Some orange acidity nicely in balance with the sweet caramel. Some hints of apple/pear. Pleasant alcohols.
M: Medium carbonation and body.
D: Not bad. Still not my favorite style, but I will surely start trying some more tripels in the future.
