Best before 2011. Poured into a Chimay goblet.
Perfectly clear amber gold. A somewhat moderate pour reveals only a finger's worth of frothy white head. It takes it's time falling... constantly replenished by the relentless stream of bubbles rising from the bottom. Sheets of lace cling over most of the glas
Aroma is thick bready malt, light orchard fruits, bruised banana, and a hint of herbal. The alcohol is apparent around the edges.
Flavor brings a bit more sweetness, even a banana candy note. Again with the bread and bruised banana. There's a slight mustiness and little peppery character. Then a gentle bitterness in the finish.
Alcohol provides a light astringency which is nice with the dry finish. Copious carbonation is lively but not at all prickly and plays well with the medium light body.
There's a unique bready character here, which isn't exactly to my tastes but is interesting nonetheless.
