Consumed during celebrations for New Years Eve, watching Inception on Blu-Ray.

A - A hazy straw yellow with a tinge of orange, with that signature, snow-white duvel head, at least an inch thick, dissolving into a thick lacing that looks like bits of meringue. Beautiful doesn't begin to describe how awesome it is.

S - citric, grassy hops and yeast rule the aroma. Two very pleasant notes on the nose.

T - Duvel Smoothness, with a citric hoppy bite, and very very yeasty. Like duvel amped up to eleven, in a good way.

M - Sufficient viscosity and fine champagne-esque bubbles. Oh so smooth going down; I love it.

D - This does not taste like 9.5% ABV. It's so smooth and tasty, i could blow through two of these with little effort...and then promptly pass out the moment i tried to stand up. This one will sneak up on you.

Overall - One of the most satisfying beers I've ever had. Hoppy, yeasty, very slightly malty...It really is like Duvel with the awesome meter cranked up as far as it'll go. And considering how good standard Duvel is, that's no easy task. I am in love with this beer. I'm going out and getting more tomorow. I must have more.

A: Clear yellow with enormous head. High effervescence. No floaties.

S: The most intense, most distilled pine, resin, evergreen character i have ever gotten from a brew. Kind of overwhelms everything else, but being so organic and complex it hardly feels lacking.

T: Follows up on the nose with rich, beautiful and extremely evocative pine forest aromatics.

M: Medium low bitterness. Full bodied. Medium high carbonation. Finishes sweetish with a clove like aftertaste.

Overall: Such a treat of a beer. Unique profile and interpretation of the style.

Poured from 12 oz 2014 bottle,
A- Pale yellow, bright white 2 finger head, not much lacing

S-white grapes, grass, wheat malt

T-dry white wine, belgium style wheat malt, complex hops profile, detect the tangy/funky sorachi
I like the hoppines, its the right balance

M- medium, effervecent carbonation

O- its between brooklyn brewery local one and this as my favorite belgium wheat ale
Easy to drink, really complex and really tasty, if it was cheaper i would get this regularly

Poured from a stubby 11.2 oz bottle into my Chimay goblet. Features a big delicately bubbly white head that actually looks like thick froth because of the carbonation and excellent head retention. Has some frothy streaks of lacing on the glass. A good looking beer.

VEry good aroma as well, Kind of like a Belgian Strong Pale Ale with hops added. Starts of fwith some pale fruit...apples and pears, then the Mosaic hops kick in and the bitterness and tangerine/citrus aromas take over.

Taste is more of the same, starts out like a Belgian Strong Pale Ale with the yeast and light fruit, then the Mosaic hos.citrus flavor kick s in. The overall flavors appear light on the tongue with little to no alcohol bite.

Mouthfeel is light and smooth. No noticeable alcohol presents, Nice level of carbonation.

This is an outstanding brew. The addition of heavy duty hops in no way diminishes the "Belgian" characteristics of the beer. Very nicely done/

Color- clear light gold. Huge head with annoying meringue thickness.

Aroma- sharp hoppiness with evergreen notes.

Taste- Starts mild with Belgian spiced grape notes then turns dry and hoppy with a lingering clean hoppy finish. This is a Belgian for hop heads!

Poured from a corked 750 ml bottle into a Liefmans Goudenband glass (my preferred all purpose beer tasting glass). Tasted Jan. 2013.
