Golden color with a two finger thick head with medium retention and leaving a wall of laces.
Predominant aroma of biscuit malt, herbs, honey and Belgian yeast.
Flavor of lemon zest, pepper, Belgian yeast, biscuit malts and herbal hops. Dry aftertaste with an elegant mild bitterness.
Light body with medium carbonation. 7% ABV is completely hidden.
Clearer taste than other Duvel with more perceivable hops given its lighter body. Lost a bit complexity but gained drinkability. But stayed half way there... Still, it is a good beer.

The "fourth" Duvel of the family, and the one variety which is not available for purchase in the US. This bottle was brought home from Belgium, and it's a small and slender 250 ml one. On to the beer:

Looks like a normal Duvel to me. The body is golden yellow, visible carbonation bubbles race to the tap, and the foam creamy and sticking well. The head isn't as fluffy, though we're dealing with only 250 ml instead of 330 ml. It smells a little rustic, almost like a saison. A little floral, honey, and peppery spice.

Taste is on the dry side, though delicate and balanced. There's a little sweetness and a melon-like flavor. There's also a delicate pepper note and flowers. A kiss of alcohol makes itself present in the throat, though not to disturb the harmony of the beer. Bready notes too. It's a medium bodied beer with an airiness and smooth body.

Compared to regular Duvel, gefilterd looks inferior. Comapred to other blonds out there, it can make some noise.

A: golden colour, nice foamy head, a bit on the small side, though

S: classic duvel smell, hint of lemon zest, some malts and hops

T: again lemon, hoppy finish

M: too thin, could be a bit dryer, you don't really feel the alcohol

O: it's a good slid beer, but i'd rather take a ordinary duvel. It's just better, I don't really see a place for this one. The fact it contains less alcohol really doesn't help it, as it isn't that noticeable, so it's actually more dangerous.
