The bottle says its good until 09 2015!

My pour gets a finger and a half of white head. The body is a vibrant straw color. Lace clings in thick sheets.

I smell grain, hops, a little bit of booze. Yeast and grass are also all up in the mix.

Grain and yeast make up the front end of this. Very grassy and gardeny hops take over, then a slight spice mixes in. No real alcohol in the taste.

Mouthfeel is medium bodied. I would classify this beer as slightly sticky overall. Dry finish.

March 2014: 330 ml bottle, Cardinal Pub & Bar, Stavanger. ABV is 9.5%. Slightly hazy and very pale yellow colour, with a nearly greenish hue. Large to moderate white head. Spicy aroma with grassy and herbal hops, hints of dill and lemongrass. Effervescent mouthfeel. Spicy flavour, dill and lemongrass again, bitter hops in the finish. Warming throatfeel.

From Belgium in a Box. In Teku glass. Playing Magic 2015. Very foamy, requiring 2 pours. Although I usually enjoy Sorachi, in this case Ive found it a bit cloying, making the brew below the normal Duvel

375ml bottle into matching Duvel tulip. This is the #3 bottle of the 2016 Tripel Hop six-pack rerelease.

A: Pours that classic Duvel pour: clear crisp straw golden color below half a glass full of whipped egg white head. The amazingly dense yet airy head took forever to slowly fade into thick and rocky layer of foam. I’ve always said that Duvel is one of the best looking beers on the market.
S: Smells of Duvel with peppery and earthy hops mixed with clean and crisp pale malt and a touch of fruity yeast. I get a hint of bubblegum yeast and lemon zest hops as well. Smells a bit earthier and leafier than the original.
T: Follows the nose with the expected Duvel flavors of crisp pale malt balanced by peppery hops, but this sorachi ace version has notes of lemon zest, lemon grass, and an overall “green” sort of leafy herb garden flavor. The finish is slightly more bitter than the original with an almost tea-like flavor lingering in the finish alongside hints of golden fruits and fruity yeast. Spicy peppery hop flavors linger in the aftertaste.
M: Full, fluffy, airy, and soft carbonation creates a full mouthfeel that is balanced by clean dry finish and overall crisp cleanness to the mouthfeel.
O: Not my favorite of tripel hop series, however this is still a fantastic Belgian ipa, and one that I would gladly drink again. However, I do think I prefer original Duvel over this.

Another hoppy masterpiece from Duvel. Very sharp and piney, crisp, clear and golden. Adequate creamy head. But for this one, it’s all about the hops, and they come through in spades. The hops bitterness really shines, without being overpowering. Very, very good showcase for hops

Cloudy golden colour, with a good head that leaves a good lace, and a ringh on the surface. Aorma is predominantly resins, with citruses notes, some spices, grass. Oily texture, medium body, some tiny bubbles alwasy coming up. Taste of resins (pot smokers will understand), citrus, some tropical fruits. Dry finish. Great.

Giant white head with a cloudy, yellow amber color.

Intense aroma of lemon, grapefruits, very floral with typical belgium yeast. Yeast goes along with strong hoppy notes, full of grapes and lime.

Untypical massive bitterness for a Tripel / Strong Ale, almost a Double-IPA with lots of yeast and peppery spices in it. Tastes like a normal "Duvel" paired with an american IPA, adding up perfectly to a whole new beer experience. Carbonation underlines the freshness of the beer, ending in a hop bitterness in which the spices are still present. Floral notes are noticable the whole time, also subtle hints of lime.

Bitter, dry ending rounds up the IPA-character of this unique beer.

Wonderful beer. Golden in colour with a slightly orange accent. The head is white and very dense. An initial maly taste turns into an overwhelming citrus and herbal taste due to the addition of the sorachi hops. Even better than a traditional Duvel!

-2013 edition dry hopped with Sorachi hops consumed 11/28/14 and served in an etched duvel tulip glass. 9.5% abv.

(3.60) A: Pale brass coloring in the vessel with a good clarity shows a feverish pitch of macro-effervesce bubbles rushing to the surface. Atop is a bready white head, moderately retaining while leaving a thin lace band upon dropping.

(3.55) S: Decent wiff of wet lemony hops and stalks, herbal hops with a soft peppery finish. The aroma level held up well despite the lengthy hold over.

(4.10) T: Crisp flavor, bright, wet lemony flair witha peppery spicing. Quenching lemon, wheat backing with a zesty citrus hopping. Time has not seemed to taken a toll or affected the hop status here a year later. Hints of breakfast fruit, tart pineapple, coconut cream, with a dry, scotchy-pine alcohol finish.

(4.10) M: Crisp mouthful, tight bubbly champagne like carbonation. Wet lemony hops, peppery herbal spicing, yeasty with a nice glow of alcohol coming from the 9.5% abv.

(4.10) O: Very good drinkability. One of the standards for belgian beer and just goes to show you how difficult it is to duplicate by an american brewery.
