Always open to trying a new beer from Duvel Moortgat.

Pours clear with a thin off-white head. Flavor is sweet. Minimal hop spices. More so as the aftereffect lingers in my mouth. There seems to be what seems vaguely similar to a pear flavor here; it's probably a different fruit that I am reminded of but can't remember the name of. Overall it is very crisp. Another nice brew from a brewery that I expect no less from.

33cl bottle (12 2015) into a tulip. Pale golden color with some haze. Four finger white head with good retention and lacing. Hoppy aroma with grass, lemon and a hint of apple. Crisp and sweet first taste that is followed by a bitter and dry aftertaste with hoppy grass, lemon, spice and grapefruit that lasts for some time. Light to medium body and high carbonation. Some warming on the tongue but the alcohol doesn't taste through. Very drinkable and left me wanting another one.

330 ml bottle into signature tulip glass, best before 12/2015. Pours light hazy bright gold color with a 2 finger foamy and rocky white head with good retention, that reduces to a small cap that lingers. Spotty foamy lacing clings around the glass, with a good amount of streaming carbonation retaining the head. Aromas of lemon zest, orange peel, pear, apple, white grape, clove, pepper, floral, grass, herbal, bread, and herbal/yeast earthiness. Very nice aromas with good complexity and balance of hop, fruity/spicy yeast, and malt notes; with good strength. Taste of lemon zest, orange peel, pear, white grape, apple, pepper, clove, herbal, floral, grass, cracker, bread, and herbal/yeast earthiness. Fair amount of earthy bitterness on the finish; with lingering notes of lemon zest, orange peel, pear, apple, white grape, pepper, clove, floral, grass, bread, and herbal/yeast earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Very nice complexity of hop, fruity/spicy yeast, and malt flavors; with a great malt/yeast flavor balance and zero cloying flavors after the finish. Medium-high carbonation and medium bodied; with a very smooth, crisp, and lightly prickly mouthfeel that is great. Alcohol is very well hidden with only a light warming present after the finish. Overall this is an excellent Belgian IPA. All around great complexity and balance of hop, fruity/spicy yeast, and malt flavors; and very smooth and crisp to sip on for the ABV. A very enjoyable offering.

Poured from a 11.2 oz. bottle into a tulip glass. Best by 10/2015

A- Pale yellow with a high degree of clarity and a big white head.

S- A light Belgian yeast character of light spices and citrus zest. Slight alcohol. Definite musty yeast character. Some grassy notes.

T- Similar to aroma. Some light sweetness, seems more bitter than regular Duvel. Some alcohol seems more than 9.5%. Dry hoppy finish.

M-Medium light good level of carbonation.

O- I think the Sorachi Ace hops really pair well with the Belgian sugar and yeast. This seems more bitter than regular Duvel bordering on Belgian IPA levels. A nice take on one of my favorite beers.

330ml bottle. Duvel Oversized Tulip glass. Pale gold, clear appearance. White froth remains as a thin layer on top. Intense grapefruit, underneath resin, anise & Belgian yeast aromas rounded by notes of pepper, herbs, earth, sour almond & tropical fruit. Crispy & sugary upfront is swept out by gentle citric hops & ripe fruit notes. Medium to light body. Moderate to high carbonation. Oily texture. Subtle citric zest & sour almonds astringency linger into a bitter/sweet finish. Fruity aftertaste shows memories of green wood & resins. Well integrated & kind alcohol. Refreshing drinkability.
