I am supposed to be working, but I got bored and came over to Summer Shack. They finally have a good beer selection. This Be Hoppy surprised me at how good it is. Nicely hopped and very refreshing. I have to go back and speak to auditors so I am hoping this beer is 12% or 13% ABV. Good stuff - will make this a go to

Drank a can of this after I had a bomber of hopulence. Not sure if that had anything to do with it but did not love this beer at all. It is definitely a good beer but in the grand scheme of whats out there I did not find this to be up there with the tree house IPA'S or the heady's, SOS, 2nd fiddle, pliny. . . Just didn't live up to the hype for me. Overall solid but not great!

This is a popular beer seen on draft throughout MA, it usually is the best choice available and frankly if you see it on the shelves at a store you better buy it! Hops galore with some grapefruit citrus. Has a dry finish with some slight bitterness. This is a classic MA beer!

Can dated 4/9, so 20 days old..really good, very aggressive bittering! Nice! But somewhat lacking on aroma...
100 from the Bros.? Wow.
Big impression, tho, almost comes off as a DIPA...

Pours pale and golden with lots of head. Smells like pine and hops, with some hints of citrus. Tastes bitter, crisp, dry and very hoppy. Just a real IPA, that isn't disguising hops in any way. This is a great beer.

16oz can from 7Sport (many thanks, I'd been wanting to try this). Canned 3/2/15. Served in a goblet.

Pours a brilliant clear golden yellow with a three finger stack of white bubbles. Pillows remain, leaving copious sheets of beautiful lace.

Bright citrus aroms dominate. Orange and grapefruit with a hint of honey-like sweetness. This is one I can't stop myself from returning to smell repeatedly throughout my enjoyment of the glass

Citrus continues to be a big part of the hop flavors but there is much more than that. Graprfruit, orange peel, mild pine, slightly floral, lemon zest, mild earth, faint cracker and hints of pepper. This is bitter and hoppy in almost all the right ways and has virtually no real alcohol precense. Incredibly easy to drink.

Crisp, fairly light body with moderate carbonation. Just a touch too dry for my preference but still quite good. Citrus zest and mild pine create a lingering, bitter, hoppy finish.

Be Hoppy may not hit every aspect perfectly for what I look for but is certainly in the upper echelon of IPAs. Bright and crisp with hops a-plenty. I'm glad that I got to try it.

I was able to score a fresh 4 pack that was canned on 4/9/15 and I can't emphasize how amazing this beer is when its fresh.
A: Somewhat hazy with a golden copper like color with a foamy white head.
S: Smells very piney with mild citrus notes.
T: Mild bitterness, piney notes, has a nice dry, hoppy finish. The citrus notes seem to pop in my mouth...so much flavor!
M: Mild to medium amount of carbonation. Has a nice body to it as the hops definitely tingle the mouth.
O: Overall, having this beer fresh is a real treat. The hops pop in your mouth combined with juicy citrus notes...fantastic!!

Special thanks to Maverick74 for the great extras

A - Hazy wheat gold body with a fuzzy white head. Ok retention and lace.

S - OK nose. Orange, yeast cake, white bread, grapefruit pith, and just a touch of soft bitter fresh cut flowers.

T - Soft bready backbone with woody and herbal hop overtones. Dry and well balanced.

M - Smooth, medium frame. Par carbonation.

O - A really nice, highly drinkable IPA. Smooth and well balanced.

On tap at a not particularly great sports bar. A very solid beer but not quite the aromatic, citrusy VT style monster that I was expecting. May need to try it again with style expectations more on track.

Slightly less hazy than they make it out to be. Fuity citrus taste with a mild hop bite and moderate maltyness. Has a rolling finish like Hop Ranch with the aromatics and tropical fruityness of JaiAlai. Overall a good beer.

A big score at Charles street liquors in Boston. Thanks! Poured into a Sam Adams glass, as there is no huge demand to "drink from the can!" like a Heady pounder.

Gorgeous beer. Straw, hazy, perfect head and super sticky lacing. Perfect.

Aroma is mild but pleasant. Melon and pineapple sweetness. Nice.

Great flavor. All subtle flavors due to the relatively low abv. But what it lacks in umph it makes up with complexity and cleanliness. I try to avoid this comparison in hoppy beers, but the profile really is like a light Heady. Smooth melon, a touch of grassiness, touch of lemon. Really wonderful.

So clean. The most pleasant flavors stick in the finish.

What a great beer. Boy I hope we see this on a larger scale soon. I'd go to this sucker all summer long. Love the pounder format for a 6.5 beer too.

I tried this beer on draft at a bar in the summer BEFORE knowing any of the hype... and my eyes went wide after the first sip.

Every sip after that, I kept exclaiming to people at the table how good this beer was. For me, it was the kind of beer I've always been looking for. I'm really into IPAs, but I too often feel like they go overboard with the hops, rendering the beer skunky and hard to drink. This beer on the other hand had the perfect level of flavor, but was also extremely drinkable and refreshing. Medium bodied, crisp, and the aftertaste was just pure joy. Had a very very slight hint of grapefruit which made it great for warm weather.

Probably my all time favorite beer, and again, I decided that after the first sip BEFORE even having a clue about the hype.

Served in a pint glass at the Union Brewhouse in Weymouth.

Appearance: A one finger head was poured that reduced to a puffy layer. It is a hazy pale yellow orange color with good clarity and vision of bubbles coming up through the glass. Frothy lacing down the glass as the beer was drank.

Smell: Tropical, lemony, grassy, citrus, herbal, and spicy hop aroma followed by pale, caramel, bready, and toasted malts.

Taste: Awesome hop flavor and balanced malts in the rear. Super light tingly bitterness too.

Mouthfeel: Really smooth, light tingly bitterness, very refreshing, tasty, medium bodied, and medium carbonation.

Overall: As good as it gets from the East Coast and readily available. Each year it becomes easier to find and in my personal opinion still maintains its qualities that w ed we all look for. I always look forward to having this beer again.
