A-Pours dark brown. When I hold a fixed light source to my glass I can see surprisingly see all the way through (albeit barely). Hints and glimmers of crimson in the body. Head is a short lived cluster of darker tan foam. Stringy lacing.
S-A textbook stylistic aroma with an intensity level that outmuscled many Porters. Very roasty with a legitimate coffee scent. Powdered cocoa and even some vanilla sweetness. I also get some soft nuttiness.
T-A lot like biting into a hard chunk of authentic dark chocolate. The roast is very concentrated, too. Some more vanilla and some chalkiness. Roasted nuts. I can see why this recently medaled at the GABF; it's such an exemplary take on the style but it's bulked up as well.
M-Much more body than many Porters. Creamy and thick, especially for the ABV. Soft, in intrusive bubbles. Medium bitterness.
O/D-A gallant yet textbook take on the style. One of the better Porters I can remember having recently. These people at Wormtown are world class! Another example of their brewing expertise.

22oz bottle. Bottled January 2014. Pours a rich black color with over an inch of medium brown head. Lots of lacing. Aromas of chocolate, caramel, coffee, roasted malts, and earth. The taste is chocolate syrup, roasted malts, peat moss, and a hint of smoke. Some light and sweet coffee but rich chocolate syrup is the main flavor. Small amount of citrus hops. Creamy mouthfeel with a good deal of carbonation. Overall, pretty good Porter.
