Tap at peppercorns during beer dinner

Decent fluffy head, fades semi slowly with nice lacing, semi hazy reddish maple brown color.

Nose sweet and reddish toasty malts, plenty off maple syrup, brown sugar, crystal malts, light grassy hops, touch of fruits

Taste starts pretty malty, toasty brown malts, light reddish malts, brown sugar, maple syrup, sweet malts, light chewy malts, sumer lift earthy and chewy hops, hint of roast and choc, light candy flavor, light oak, and even a bit of creamy malts. Finishes a bit sweet still, hint of booze warmth, lingering malts, more maple.

Mouth is med to slightly heavier bodied, dec carb, light warming booze.

Overall great, nice malts, maple is present and tasty and held in check, booze its there but drinks well, overall well balanced especially for a maple beer.

A - Deep brown/ruby color with less than one finger of head that slowly fades leaving light lacing down the sides.

S - Pretty much identical to their regular Foxy Brown Ale but with a very, very light maple syrup/sugar smell. For the ammount of maple syrup (10 gallons per batch) I was really expecting more of that to come through.

T - Really getting the usual malts but just too light on the maple. Getting a slight brown sugar taste but really really not getting the maple. Perhaps it was served too cold, I dont know.

M - Medium carbonation. Nothing special or out of the ordinary here.

D - Combination of everything works well with this ale. I do enjoy it more than the regular brown ale but if I hadn't known this was made with maple I would have never, ever picked up on it. Highly drinkable, sure, but a huge disappointment from Wormtown on this one.
