Heard that the official release of this seasonal winter brew was yesterday (11/1/10), so I made a mission of trying this today. Really glad I swung by to try this, as I didn't know it was going to be a brown ale. It makes sense though, as their usual Foxy Brown brown ale has been kicked for many, many months. This brown ale offering is 6% ABV and 24IBU's.

A - Clear mahogany pour with just the slightest of bubbles. Fluffy two finger head that slowly fades leaving a thin blanket of off whitefoam and light slide lacing.

S - Roasted malty sweetness. No smokey aroma whatsoever, but a solid cocoa finish on the nose that normally isnt associated with this style.

T - Much like the nose there is big semisweet malt up front with roasted notes. Almost like a brown bread in terms of earthiness. Nice creamy cocoa flavour at the end, almost like a stout in terms of how smooth of a finish it has.

M - Medium carbonation just a nice light start with a smooth creamy cocoa finish. Not strong on the chocolate finish but very light and subtle.

D - Smooth but crisp. Solid brown ale flavours with a pleasant chocolate finish. This is a really solid brown ale offering from Wormtown that really follows suit with the rest of their great lineup.

A-Pours a transparent brown. Head is rather light in stature. Attractive coloring. Mild speckles of lacing.

S-Nice cocoa notes at first. Interesting medley of nutty flavors backs the cocoa. Roasty as well. Smooth malty character. Pleasant and rather mild.

T-Akin to the nose. Cocoa and chocolate. Nuts and roast as well. Exceptionally smooth. Goes down easy with no alcohol bite. Tastes darker than it looks.

M-Smooth and very creamy with a medium body. Carbonation is mellow and soothing. Great body.

O/D-I enjoyed this beer quite a bit. Surprised by the flavor profile but happy with the result. Definitely a good Winter Seasonal...I'll take this over most Winter Warmers.

Had on tap at Prezo.

Lighter creamy 1 finger head fades at a medium pace over very clear amber maroon copper color

Nose brings lots of reddish malts, toasty malts, light roast, light creamy and hint of biscuit. Also light fruits and light earthy hops.

Taste starts very porter like with creamy dark malts, light roast, chocolate malt, reddish malts, a smooth rich demeanor. Light caramel and hint of candy, light fruits, a bit of chewy oats, light nutty taste, hearty and robust. Also has a nice earthy light spicy hop bitterness. Starts semi sweet and dries a bit on the finish. Touch of sticky residue on the finish, with lingering earthy hops and a nice bitterness as well as a nice roasty porter like malt flavor.

Mouth is medium bodied with decent carbonation.

Drinkabilty is surprisingly decent for a winter ale. No heavy spices very light sticky feel, semi dry finish, and no real booze taste.
