Reviewed from notes. On tap at EBF 2011.
Pours a moderately-dark brown color with a light tan head that moves away pretty quickly. The nose brings a moderate amount of toasted coconut plus a bit of malt sweetness. Caramel and a bit of vanilla there as well. Toffee on the backend. The flavor has a bit of the coconut plus some sweet malt and caramel. As it warms up, unfortunately reveals a bit of a diacetyl presence, which is then quite prevalent in the finish along with some sweetness. Pretty good beer and an interesting concept.

Had on tap at EBF. Renamed to Coconutty,
Dark cokebrown color with a light head that leaves a slight lacing.
Nose roasty brown malts, nutty, brown sugar, molasses, light almond light nutty, very slight chocolate malt, a pure candy bar in beer form, but not sweet and gag-like.
Taste semi sweet, brown sugar, light molasses, nutty, little creamy, very light toasted almond like flavor, touch of darker malt flavors chocolate and heavier crystal, caramel, toasty malts, then a drier finish with nice lingering malts, toasted nutty brown malts.
Med body with decent carbonation.
Fairly drinkable, sessionable essentially, drier finish, no real sticky feel, goes down well and makes me want to keep drinking more.

This was one of Wormtowns extremely limited friday night offerings. Just one lil cask of this done up. They took Joe Z's Coconut Porter and added toasted almonds and cacoa nibs to the cask. They do a brew like this almost every friday and fortunately for me I happened to work first shift and was able to try this delicious treat.
A - Poured straight from the cask and into a snifter. Much like their coconut porter this was a rich fudge brown colour pour with a dense light tan one finger head that fades at the normal rate leaving a nice tan halo.
S - Wow, this is where it knocked the regular coconut porter out of the ballpark. This was like smelling a peice of candy. Big, big rich chocolate notes intermixing with roasted almonds and coconut. Yeah, theres some malts present but the big aromas here are the features that its name is based off of. Chocolate, almonds, and coconut.
T - Not nearly as intense as the nose but this was like drinking a dessert. Rich chocolate was present throughout with nice earthy, roasted almonds and coconut lingering on the tastebuds. Sweet malts added more candy like qualities with each sip. None of the flavours were overly assertive but blended together to create exactly what you hope to drink, a liquid almond joy.
M - My only knock to this cask would be the mouthfeel. I've had beers served from a cask before and this one fell just a little short. That smooth, silky nicely carbonated porter was now feeling a little flat and almost watery. Very strange and unfortunate.
D - Yeah, this stuff was ridiculous. It really was a liquid dessert, but, it wasnt overly rich or assertive. I could, and wanted to, drink this all night. Really with this was made again.
